Once Upon a Time in Mexico | thewanderlustking

https://thewanderlustking.wordpress.com/2014/04/22/once-upon-a-time-in-mexico

The adventures and thoughts of an aspiring writer and traveler. Once Upon a Time in Mexico. April 22, 2014. I found him in a bar in Mexico City. Her jerked his head to the right, cracking the bones in his jaw and neck welded shut by fists and pavement. None of that mattered now. He was back. He pushed the empty bottle of beer away from him, snapped shut his abused copy of ‘On The Road”, jumped to his feet and stepped out onto the sunny streets. He had found himself in a bar in Mexico City. And in the cab...

Mayan Riviera Manifesto | thewanderlustking

https://thewanderlustking.wordpress.com/2014/10/27/mayan-riviera-manifesto

The adventures and thoughts of an aspiring writer and traveler. October 27, 2014. Memory believes before knowing remembers. Believes longer than recollects, longer than knowing even wonders. 8211; William Faulkner. Dormant deep inside, coerced into slumber by complacency and the monotony of what is familiar. Like a river dammed by cold hands, energy diverted and devoted to things less beautiful, words cease to flow, eyes focus on feet sunk in the floor. I will be a one man league of nations. In the heat of Cartagena de Indias | thewanderlustking

https://thewanderlustking.wordpress.com/2014/03/09/cartagena-de-indias

The adventures and thoughts of an aspiring writer and traveler. In the heat of Cartagena de Indias. March 9, 2014. The sun hung lazily, suspended in the Caribbean sky, the balconies cast intricate shadows along the narrow streets below, and they walked through water. The air was a thick hot wetness, churned into a jelly by proximity to the waistline of the world. In a haphazard fashion they marched. In some places three astride, in some a swirling mob of bodies, like a stream of water, the music and ...

The adventures and thoughts of an aspiring writer and traveler. March 5, 2014. BACK TO U. DE CHILE. After my almost 2 month sojourn through Bolivia. Sadly there was only myself and three other exchange students who were staying the entire school year, I had to say goodbye to some great friends, but I was excited for the chance to meet a whole new group of students. My travels overlapped the beginning of the semester and I returned about a week and a half into classes. Viña del Mar means ‘vinyeard o...

México Güey | thewanderlustking

The adventures and thoughts of an aspiring writer and traveler. May 20, 2014. So it has been a month. And although I have only been here a month, I think I have eaten enough. Tacos al pastor,. Soaked up enough sun, spoken enough Spanish, squeezed into enough subway trains, drank enough tequila and lord knows had enough hangovers to paint a decent picture of what my first month here has been. Tequila’s sick fuck of a brother. Or sipped on some ice cold. Besides the abundance of handheld flame in food form...

Rodney the circus horse | The Rodney Diaries

https://therodneydiaries.wordpress.com/2013/10/11/rodney-the-circus-horse

The story of a market pony. Rodney the circus horse. So, Rodney’s taught himself a new trick at some point, and is well on his way to being sold as a circus horse. Monday night we planned to do some pole work, and start his introduction to jumping properly, but due to S running late, and not having enough time to get the poles set up before it got dark, we just went in the school instead. Safe to say, he got a very big telling off, and I hopped back on again. He’s got a slight issue with the school...

March 20, 2014. It wasn’t until I read Danny’s Meyer’s book Setting the Table. Is a great read and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in travel, food, restaurants or who is just a fan of Danny Meyer’s famous New York establishments. What I loved most about it though is that it made me finally believe that it was alright to love food and restaurants as much as I do. Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Villa Borghese, Borghese Gallery, Via Condotti (shopping! Via di Ripetta, 19) amazing rustic...

Letters from a life on the road…. My favourite travel apps. My favourite travel apps. December 20, 2016. I remember when my sister and I first embarked on our backpacking trip around South America in 2008, I took with me my ancient Nokia cellphone, that only sometimes made phone calls and could maybe send a text if you asked it nicely, but that was about it. The Wanderlust Life

Friday, June 7, 2013. Links to this post. Saturday, May 25, 2013. While a week sick in bed didn't allow me any time to update the blog it did give me the opportunity to cross another book of the BBCs 100 Must Read Books List. This time I read Charlotte Brontë's Jane Eyre. I have always loved the story Jane Eyre but sadly had only ever seen the film versions (1996 and 2011). Like most book to film adaptations the book is far better. Links to this post. Labels: bbc top 100 books. Friday, May 10, 2013.
