Shadow of the wind. 29/07/15 22:34 Filed in: Cruising 2015. It was very, very late by the time we got back to the boat! Next morning there was very little wind so we left Arisaig and motored across to the Isle of Muck. Dropped the anchor and went ashore for lunch at the cafe there. We all ordered squat lobster open sandwiches and they were delicious. Afterwards we had a wander round the estate before going back to the boats and heading out to go across to Glenuig in the Sound of Arisaig. THE STORY SO FAR.

Aft Heads Part II. 21/01/15 13:31 Filed in: Wintering 14/15. More maintenance this week. Braved the snow and ice to go to Arisaig. We installed a toilet conversion kit for the pumpy toilet. Looks good, can’t wait to see if it can handle whatever we can throw at it! If it works in the aft heads we’ll get another one for the forward heads. Also started to dismantle the windlass to give it some grease. It was so cold I only did the top half. We’ll go down further another day. Blog comments powered by Disqus.
Wayfarer
http://thewayfarer.co.uk/Boat/index.html
The Wayfarer is named after my father’s fishing boat which was built in 1959 at Tommy Summers boatyard in Fraserburgh. At the time she was the biggest boat to come out of that yard. She was a most successful vessel and my father sold her on in 1967. In total she had four owners before she was scrapped in 2008. Coincidentally Ab was also built in 1959 but so far he has managed to avoid being scrapped! Here are the specs for Wayfarer. I lifted this off the ad when she was for sale. Fuel capacity: 135 ltires.

Shadow of the wind. Last Sail of 2015! We met up with our friends from Nanna and Amica and had dinner at Cafe Fish. Never seen such a menu! You should go there. Next Day was cold and overcast with the wind blowing right up the Sound of Mull. Said goodbye to Stewart, Val, Elaine and Gordon and motored the short distance to Loch Aline. We went to see the Bridge over the Atlantic and had a pint in the famous pub. Next morning Robert and Alan bade us farewell. We went on our own merry way to Easdale. Did a b...

The Wayfare
The wanderings of an unassuming traveler. Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Christmas in New Orleans. Christmas this year was a little different than normal. Waiting for the car to defrost in 20 degree weather, driving through snow storms and scurrying from place to place has been my typical Christmas that I have grown accustom to living in Maine. This year however I spent the holiday in the Big Easy, enjoying the mild 60 degree temperatures and the lively atmosphere. We were staying in the French Quarter of...
