Author Archives: Urabrask The Hidden. Pay attention, the important part might come in a form you do not recognize. March 6, 2017. 8220;This is suffering’s lesson: pay attention. The important part might come in a form you do not recognize. You might not know to love it. But to pay attention is to love everything. To see the future as brightness. Everything that happens is the last time it happens. We see things only as their own fatal brightness, and there is nothing after that brightness. It was quite i...

How I struggled to remove PayPal from Google Play Store | The Quiet Furnace
https://thequietfurnace.wordpress.com/2016/08/11/how-i-struggled-to-remove-paypal-from-google-play-store
How I struggled to remove PayPal from Google Play Store. August 11, 2016. So I went and removed credit card, but when I looked in the PayPal option, it all became slightly strange. PayPal wasn’t showing as a method on my Google Payments page. So I tried to purchase an app by selecting PayPal as an option trying to see how it will go and to my shock, after I confirmed the Google password (remember this, not the PayPal account password), the purchase was successful and the app started to download. You are ...

Koniec nevinnosti | The Quiet Furnace
https://thequietfurnace.wordpress.com/2016/08/31/koniec-nevinnosti
August 31, 2016. Neustále čítam a počúvam o prítomnom okamihu a o žití v ňom. A s trochou prikrášlenia by som sa mohol nazvať skeptikom prežívania prítomnosti. Sarah Manguso, Dva Druhy Rozkladu. Čo znamenajú tieto čísla? Čo nimi vlastne meriame? Na konci, ak sa ná...

Start where you are, as you are | The Quiet Furnace

Start where you are, as you are. January 1, 2017. First day of the new year. Why do I need to read sixty minutes in the morning, and swim twenty laps in the afternoon, and write a thousand words at night, in order to feel that a twenty-four-hour period has been well used? What are all these numbers for? What do they measure? What do I think I’m clarifying by the act of measuring? What does measuring make clearer? What times aren’t open to debate? What times are clear? Wars end at particular times. Th...

Dear Jennifer (28. January 2015) | The Quiet Furnace

Dear Jennifer (28. January 2015). January 28, 2015. Since you’re coming to the country where hobbits were born, I would dare to make a parallel here; I almost feel like Frodo on his journey to the Mount Doom and I imagined you as Galadriel. I have absolutely no idea how I will really feel when we will meet, but I somehow feel that this little journey is important to me. I’m not expecting any help, or advice from you. If all that you love and like doing will suddenly become impossible to do, what if thing...

A peace of mind | The Quiet Furnace
https://thequietfurnace.wordpress.com/2017/01/08/a-peace-of-mind
A peace of mind. January 8, 2017. Me and my brother had recently discussed some aspects of human mind and as much as I tried to defend mind, my brother kept saying, that mind is the root of all suffering that we endure in our lives. Mind can decide what is the best thing to do to achieve what the heart desires, but mind doesn’t decide what it is that we want to pursue. The trickiest thing, and something I go through at the moment, is to figure out what to do when your heart doesn’t know what it wan...
