Experimenting with Traditional Food and Drink. Skip to primary content. June 6, 2015. We’re making some elderflower champagne this weekend. It’s our first attempt at some home brewing so hopefully it will be successful. The recipe we’re following is from the River Cottage ‘Booze’ book and looks straightforward enough. We’ve also had some expert homebrewing advice from Hop Hackers. So we’re in good hands. We now need to leave it to cool before we add the yeast so I’ll update again later. You are commentin...

My life in flavor. Laquo; Happy IPA Day! French food and American wine. August 23, 2011 by hungrywino. I was caught in the middle of a chick flick… when suddenly, out of. A Croque Monsieur appeared! For those of you who do not know, a Croque Monsieur is basically a fancy pants ham and cheese sandwich, covered in cheesy white sauce, and baked. I don’t like ham and cheese sandwiches, but this is different. This sandwich is awesome. Yes, it was awesome… and yes, you needed utensils. Your croque monsieur sou...

http://tokyoholic.me/2011/11/28/tokyo-winterscape

By Tokyoholic on November 28, 2011. Most of the trees were already naked so the trail was covered in a tick carpet of dry brown leaves. The incredible smell of the fallen leaves made me nostalgic, remembering my trips to Pavlovsk with my school friends. The air was crisp and cold but the sun was warm – the perfect combination for the hike. Unfortunately, in the evening...

The Weekend Aristocrat

Monday, May 2, 2011. My (Twenty) First Time. Tomorrow will bring a day that I have waited rather non-patiently for since I was 15.
