The Weekly Make: May 2010

http://theweeklymake.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html

A Dress for Daisy. Remember back when I got Daisy Dressform? I altered an existing skirt I would never wear into something cute and wearable. Here is the post. Probably not. I have too many exciting ideas." Well, at least I know myself.). Once I had the shape how I wanted it, I cut out my fabric. I now have the dress fully assembled and pinned to Daisy. And here it is:. I'm finally beginning to understand how to dress and accessorize in colors. Like Stacy and Clinton. Or maybe a royal purple? But there y...

The Weekly Make: March 2011

http://theweeklymake.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

The very hardest and one of the very best days of my life. Enjoy! My water broke at 2:15am. About an hour and a half of repacking hospital bags, and we were off! We got to the hospital around 4am, which is when my contractions started to be more regular. As you can tell, this picture was taken very early on. And this picture was taken much later. After about 10 hours of labor (including about 2 hours of pushing) and zero pain mediation. Isn't my baby boy the sweetest? Here's Judah picking his nose.

The Weekly Make: Judah's First Birthday: Part One

http://theweeklymake.blogspot.com/2012/07/judahs-first-birthday-part-one.html

Judah's First Birthday: Part One. I wanted to celebrate his first year in three ways: finally finishing his room, making him a few presents, and giving him a very Judah-focused day. So here begins the 3 part series of Judah's birthday. First off: Judah's Room. The view from the door. And the other corner. Judah's big birthday present: a toy storage system complete with animal cubbies. Judah's dresser with some favorite stuffed friends (including the all-important Sleep Sheep). To the right is another pai...

The Weekly Make: October 2010

http://theweeklymake.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

Friday night when I signed off, when I was sure I would fritter away hours playing bejeweled, I actually popped in a Christmas movie and made something. I made this little guy:. And here he is with the new birdfeeder we just put up. As to the Christmas movie dilemma, I've decided to throw caution to the wind and just start watching my Christmas movies. It's not easy to fit 20 movies into a month. Last year, I was saving Year Without a Santa Claus. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. I Do Not. Stop. The on...Well,...

The Weekly Make: January 2012

2011 CM12: Cathedral Window Quilt. And here it is. The Christmas make to end all my other Christmas makes. The Cathedral Window Quilt. When we drew names back in July, I was really excited to get my dad. He is generally im-poss-uh-bull. To shop for because the kinds of things that he wants can only be found on ebay, and he's the only person who knows what they are, so he just buys them himself. But two years ago for Christmas, I made him this cathedral window wall-hanging. Then sewing them into strips.

HEARTH AND HOME

Thursday, May 10, 2012. I saw the most interesting thing the other day. I was watching the news and they did a piece on moms who had emailed what they DON'T want for Mother's Day. They disdained things like matching body scent and lotion, chocolate, anything stuffed and fuzzy, and flowers(which horrified Tessa; who wouldn't want flowers? Or seeing flowers that would look just beautiful in her mom's hair? Makes 10 (I double). 10 tsp sugar, divided. 1 Tbs orange zest. 2 tsp baking powder. 1 Tbs lemon juice.
