On the way out towards the end of the loop through the grove, the family started singing hynms, or something very cheery sounding anyways. Our first sunday here we decided to take on a local hike up to Rainbow lake. About 8 km later and 880 meters of elevation gain we were feelin’ the burn, but so worth the view. At one point, while we were struggling to ignore our legs burning in agony, we were passed by a trail runner. This wasn’t at the beginning either, this was about 5 km in. Up a hill! On wednesday Avery and I drove down to Squamish to do a well known local hike up the Stawamus Chief. Nice flat trail for about 400 meters (yes, I did know I would have to go up eventually), and then, voila! After that we continued on up to the first peak.
