WORDSthatSING: my mother's day post...several days late...because I am a mother
http://kelseylynae.blogspot.com/2015/05/my-mothers-day-postseveral-days.html
Why 'words that sing'. My mother's day post.several days late.because I am a mother. Two years ago I wrote this post. And this year on Mother's Day I had two babies to fill my arms. The richness of that statement is not lost on me. While we were at church we sang several songs, as we always do. But this time, as I stood in the pew by myself since Brent was onstage, two lines from two different songs stood out to me:. Grace has saved us- nothing of our own. Grace in the meltdowns. Grace in the "busy".

In reverence of Grace. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding." Ephesians 1:7-8. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Ruth grew up abused and hurting because she was a girl. She was given only small amounts of food to eat. She had a HARD childhood. Jazzin' It Up With The Jensens: December 2014
http://kmljensen.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 27, 2014. Christmas is such a beautiful time for family and I sure have some the best times just being with my little family. The kids were super excited for Christmas Eve day, even G! He had no real concept of what he was excited about, but since the bigger kids were acting thrilled, well so was he;). We started the morning with running a few errands (not so much fun) so I spiced it up with a treat, then the kids thought the trip was worth it-ha! We finished decorating our sugar cooki...

WORDSthatSING: our story
http://kelseylynae.blogspot.com/p/our-story.html
Why 'words that sing'. Here is the story of Brent and me: Our Story. I can't promise that it's perfect, but I promise it is as true to life as I can remember. Grab a snack, it's a doozey.enjoy! And the text got funky in a few places, either being smaller or bigger than original, so I guess you can move your computer nearer or farther from your face! As a freshman in high school, boys weren't off my radar screen. I liked basketball, mesh shorts, food, and ponytails, but I also liked boys. But as the curta...

WORDSthatSING: 8 things I learned from being a church-camper, OR 8 reasons you should make your kids go to camp
http://kelseylynae.blogspot.com/2015/07/8-things-i-learned-from-being-church.html
Why 'words that sing'. 8 things I learned from being a church-camper, OR 8 reasons you should make your kids go to camp. When I was growing up, summer meant a lot of things to me. It meant late evenings playing in the fading sun and getting sticky from humidity and dirt. It meant bike rides and vacations. It meant the swimming pool and skin that smelled faintly of chlorine for weeks. And it meant church camp. I started going to week long camp in fourth grade. Week long! 75 DAYS UNTIL CAMP! Who the "missi...

WORDSthatSING: psalms
http://kelseylynae.blogspot.com/2011/07/psalms.html
Why 'words that sing'. Here is the story [I wrote a collection of stories about this group of friends but haven't shared many of them here since they are MY friends and you probably don't care ;)]:. I was reading in the Psalms today while I ate my lunch, the obsessive November wind licking at the window. I was eating my noodles and the words and letting them happen to me, the way puberty happens to a person. I put down my fork and read Open up your mouth and He will fill it,. Instead of thinking it.

WORDSthatSING: Becks' Story
http://kelseylynae.blogspot.com/2014/05/becks-story.html
Why 'words that sing'. To see the letters I wrote to Becks before she was born. I have written and re-written Becks' birth story in my head so many times since her birth four and a half weeks ago. And now that I am finally. Sitting down to actually type it out, I am at a loss for where to begin. How does one capture the beautiful, chaotic, exhausting whirlwind that is childbirth? How does one describe the moment that moves from painful to sacred. When your child is laid upon your chest? My little Blythe ...

WORDSthatSING: what does it take?
http://kelseylynae.blogspot.com/2015/07/what-does-it-take.html
Why 'words that sing'. What does it take? I want you to read this post and then answer the questions for me. Because I'm super curious. Like a cat. I have been thinking a lot about community. Not the neighborhood you live in, but the deep-in-your-bones-being-known-by-others community. I've been thinking about it on a lot of different levels, and then last Sunday our pastor spoke about unity. About friendship/community, and it was about these guys. In it I said:. Open your mouth and He will fill it. But w...

WORDSthatSING: for my mom
http://kelseylynae.blogspot.com/2015/07/for-my-mom.html
Why 'words that sing'. Thank you for making sure my hair was always brushed and pulled out of my face. Thank you for feeding me good food. And food I liked. And making me eat food I didn't like. Thank you for praying with me. Thank you for taking me to the pool. Thank you for reading books to me. And buying books for me. And taking me to the library. And making me read on vacation instead of listen to music. Thank you for singing me to sleep. And all the back scratches. That's a big one. This is where I ...
