I wanted it to look spectacular when finished - with all the nooks and crannies left to enjoy. I spent considerable time cleaning out soft areas, bark that had grown inward, cracks, etc. Then, using the router, flattened it, and then sanded and sanded and sanded until it was smooth as a baby's behind! It's an entertainment center, no wait, it's a desk! The past couple of weeks I was working on the Monster table for the Docs. There was a lot of time between finish steps when I was basically "watching paint dry". I needed something to do. I had to take all the doors off of it before I could get it out of the truck. The top came off easily.
