The Wiki Church --doing church the wiki way.

Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Trust can be detrimental to your growth. What harm could it possibly mean to trust another person? It depends on who you trust. Take for example, "My sheep know me and they hear my voice." We are instructed in the bible by Jesus, (the red letters. That being in relationship with Jesus, we will know Him. What if we know our pastors more than we know our Savior? In other words, what if we see the human being and trust that person? Posted by Michele (Mo). Monday, May 10, 2010.

The Wiki Church --doing church the wiki way.: March 2010

http://thewikichurch.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 28, 2010. Sometimes when people get together for church it is like Stew. It has many flavors, several kinds of food items put together for a meal. Some people like stew and some people prefer to keep their peas separate from their carrots. But, isn't that the childish view? Isn't it the uneducated palate that prefers the bland, single-flavor taste? Consider the first century Christians. They could say "we have no King but Jesus." Could not even pretend to have Caesar as their King. Other re...

Monday, December 14, 2009. What happens when someone says, “You can take my place”? This is delegation. In political races this is okay providing the election is fair. But what happens to a relationship if you send a messenger? This is what happened to the Israelites standing at the side of a mountain. They told Moses, don't make us talk to God. You go and tell us what He says. Exodus 20:19. Take your own shoes off, you're on holy ground. Posted by Michele (Mo). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Wiki Churc...

The Wiki Church --doing church the wiki way.: How to welcome new people

http://thewikichurch.blogspot.com/2010/03/how-to-welcome-new-people.html

Wednesday, March 17, 2010. How to welcome new people. Question first is, is the goal to assimilate? Must they be assimilated? Let's say there's a standing group. When a new person comes, how do they feel? Is it acceptable for them to watch and see the players. Are they insiders? How much do we want bodies? To the extent that we are desperate for members is the extent we bend over backwards to conform to the new person. Posted by Michele (Mo). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sunday, November 29, 2009. More Equal Than Others? What is consensus anyway? Is it whomever can speak the loudest? Does it reflect subtle rewards and punishment in the group? In his book, The Body. Wrote of an interesting time in 1978 when a group of church leaders, Protestants and Catholics, had to decide whether or not to promote Colson's Prison Fellowship. Six months later the vote was unanimous. And that foundational unity has made their branch one of their strongest. So, who can bring unity? If the ...

The Wiki Church --doing church the wiki way.: July 2009

http://thewikichurch.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 21, 2009. We worship a man, I mean the pastor, instead of God. No, we worship men, males in general. Here's a test. Look around in church. Who do we give place to? Who do we follow around and do his bidding? A lone figure. That lone figure. And here's something else: If it is men who taught the bible one way all these years, does that mean some were narcissistic in their interpretation of God's word, meaning loving self? Or homosexual, meaning loving only their kind? I hate to think so.
