Nature Dome - The Willowman project

The Nature Dome is where the Art-in-Nature artist worked, and made his experiments. Will Beckers has an artistic scientific approach to exploring the possibilities nature has to offer. By creating several experiments based on old tree trunks and ingeniously devising a means of food production made from extracts of feaces, animal decay and plant extracts Beckers’ aim was to inject new growth, and sustain other plant forms. The challenge was to view nature in a completely new way, to reunite with the essence. Tree Huts - The Willowman project

Beckers built several tree huts on the Willowman domain. Built with natural materials and completely integrated into the forest environment, the huts had an architectural language of their own. Beckers’ tree huts are more than just a shelter, they are examples of architecture in nature. The tree huts served as the artists’ living and working quarters during the 6 month project. By living on site in the tree huts he was able to re-connect with his natural surroundings in the most basic way.
Community project - Education - The Willowman project

The eco-Art installation that the Willowman created in the forests of the Floriade was also an educative community project. Children were invited to become part of the installation and contribute to the construction of the artwork. In addition they each made an individual artwork and wrote down a wish for nature on the work. In this way they were voicing their projections for he future. Cradle to cradle fertilization. What I want to show with this unique project is a basic cradle to cradle mini-system,. I have created several organic cradles in which I have placed some animals, rabbits, doves, birds etc. Here they can live, run around. The interesting thing about these cradles is that they are all suspended in the air so that the feaces, droppings from the animals are used as fertilizer for growing the vegetables and fruit which I cultivate under each cradle.
