22 December. Sunny Delight. A gloriously sunny December morning saw nine Windmillers – Maurice, Andrew, Ken, Vernon, Keith, Tom, Sandra, John and Brian – set off from the Fleur de Lys for a tour of the lanes around Thaxted and Finchingfield. It was cold, very cold, but we were well wrapped and after a few stiff hill climbs we were soon warmed up. All in all we had clocked up a very respectable 32 miles under blue, sunny skies.
