Monday, December 1, 2008. Next Friday, I will attend my first formal event: Messiah's Winter Formal. I'm actually proud to say that I never indulged in such the privilege in high school. My sister Kara's ruby red prom dress. From 2003 will be my attire. Enchanté. I did get into the classes I wanted for Spring and J-Term. I am so excited to take "Encountering the Bible" with my favorite Elizabeth Arnold. I am also taking "Creative and Expressive Movement" during J-Term with Sarah and Miriam. I'm a freshma...

Taking Notes: January 2009
http://annie-chase.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 5, 2009. The Love of God. The love of God is greater far. Than tongue or pen can ever tell;. It goes beyond the highest star,. And reaches to the lowest hell;. The guilty pair, bowed down with care,. God gave His Son to win;. His erring child He reconciled,. And pardoned from his sin. O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure. The saints’ and angels’ song. When years of time shall pass away,. And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,.

Hello, Uganda: September 2009
http://philinuganda.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 30. So Kevina says if I whistle at night, I am calling the ancestors to come visit me. This is a bad visit. The rest of the family members also confirmed this tradition. However, none of my ancestors visited me last night, so I know that this aspect of ATR is not entirely accurate. I've been reading more of the Qur'an again, so I am excited to give a presentation next week on East African missionary relations with Muslims. I don't know what kind of info I will find. After that I am g...

Hello, Uganda: African Bush Harp pt. II
http://philinuganda.blogspot.com/2009/12/african-bush-harp-pt-ii.html
Thursday, December 3. African Bush Harp pt. II. Last night I was playing the adungu like always and I asked Suzan if she knew the English word for it, which is "African Bush Harp." Then Suzan asked why the term "bush" was included. I told her because it is a primitive instrument created by the mindless people of backward cultures. She laughed. Taking Notes: We're not bored anymore...
http://annie-chase.blogspot.com/2008/12/were-not-bored-anymore.html
Saturday, December 27, 2008. We're not bored anymore. Went as usual. We all woke up, ate breakfast, stayed in our pajamas, wandered around, desperate for something to do. After watching some I Love Lucy. I resorted to plummeting on the carpet upstairs beside Bonnie. Boredom had really struck when I decided "playing jail". Would be our best option for fun. A couple minutes later, I heard Hyun Tae, our Korean exchange student, yell, "ANNIE, ANNIE! And so, Saturday morning adventures continue.

Hello, Uganda: First Post from the US
http://philinuganda.blogspot.com/2009/12/first-post-from-us.html
Thursday, December 17. First Post from the US. Man, I have a lot of days, events, and thoughts to document. I'll do with what I can remember. Here we go. Friday - the End. As I was browsing the photos, taking tea, and collecting the small payment I requested for the clothes, she exclaimed out loud, "Wow! Who am I that you would come to visit me? Suzan and I spent much of the remaining day together. Suzan cooked me delicious cassava fried with tomatoes. What a good cook, among other things! We arrived tha...

Hello, Uganda: August 2009
http://philinuganda.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 28. First Post from Uganda. Including time zone changes, we traveled more than an entire day to get to Uganda. On one plane, the flight attendant woke me up and called me Clint Eastwood, which made me pretty happy, because out of all things that have the potential to reverse my sexual orientation, I would have to say Clint Eastwood is number one (relax, I'm trying to be funny). Weather has been wonderful. Rain is light and occasional, not lasting too long (locals wish there was more du...

Hello, Uganda: Jet Lag
http://philinuganda.blogspot.com/2009/12/jet-lag.html
Saturday, December 19. I got up around 6 AM this morning, which is good because I got to run into the various members of Jeremy's family as they are much earlier risers than teenagers who play music. The past few days have been slightly rough on my body. Two nights ago I only wanted to sleep for 3 hours. Jet Lag is still there. We have a performance in Lemoyne/Harrisburg on Tuesday. It's gonna be great, and the music these guys have created is amazing. I wouldn't trade it for another sound. I...Everythin...
