All About the Olivers: October 2011
http://allabouttheolivers.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 20, 2011. Finley - 27 1/2 months. On Saturday night, Finley told me that she wanted to sit on the potty and she went pee-pee! She's gone pee-pee on the potty once each day since then. I'm so proud of her and she is really proud of herself for using the "big girl potty.". She has started bringing books to me, but she wants to read them herself. On each page, she'll paraphrase what she remembers happening on that page (for example: "Let go towel, Biscuit! New words: favorite, jacket, ocea...

All About the Olivers: November 2011
http://allabouttheolivers.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 26, 2011. It's our family tradition that on the evening of Thanksgiving, we put up all the Christmas decorations. This is mostly a compromise between Andrew and me because I want to put up all the decorations in October but Andrew makes me wait until at least a month out. This was the first year that Finley really got to participate in the festivities. Fin and Dada putting together the tree. Fin quickly tired of the task and started playing with her baby doll. It really was a great day!

Wednesday, October 10, 2012. 3 Years and 2 Months. Using Daddy's socks into a fashion statement. Riding her balance bike for the first time. Science experiment with baking soda and vinegar. Snuggling on the couch with Rusty - I love how this picture captures the color of her beautiful blue eyes. Helping Mommy pack the kitchen up. Finley has glasses (which I'm not convinced she needs) and this is how she wears them - perched on her nose. Luckily my dad found it humorous too! Tuesday, October 2, 2012.

All About the Olivers: April 2012

Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Some Recent Funny Finley Stories. We all got a good laugh out of that one! I also sent up a quick prayer: Dear Lord, please let that be the only time Finley is referred to as Naked Girl! We were at the Shelton's house last Sunday and Finley loved playing with their kitten, Sunshine. Madeline was sweet to help Finley find the cat, who was hiding upstairs. Madeline said, "Let's take the cat downstairs Finley." Finley replied," No, let's take kit kat home! Saturday, April 7, 2012.

All About the Olivers: June 2012

Saturday, June 23, 2012. Finley - 35 months. I can't believe she is almost three years old! Here are some more stories that I want to remember:. I'm sure many of you have read the book and/or seen the movie The Help. You remember the "You is kind. You is smart. You is important" part? When we read books, Finley loves to ask, "What/who is that? Favorite foods: scrambled eggs, berry smoothies, chicken nuggets. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The Life and Times of Alicia and Chris. Tuesday, March 27, 2012. A New Skill - Cutting. I bought Finley some plastic (entirely plastic, no metal or really sharp edges) scissors for her to use when we do arts and crafts. She loves her scissors and always asks if she can "snip, snip" paper. Here are a few pictures from her first "snipping" session with Mimi and Poppy. Hmmhow do these things work? I think I got it, Mimi! This is Fin's concentration face. Still snipping, this time with Poppy. Tuesday, March 13, 2012. Trip to the Zoo. A sure sign o...

All About the Olivers: January 2012
http://allabouttheolivers.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 30, 2012. Here's a better view of the open doorway that we had built from the kitchen to the dining room. Originally, the refrigerator was placed on the left wall (where the doorway is now) and there was a window on the wall where the refrigerator currently is. What made the window so weird and useless was that it looked out into the carport and was mostly blocked by the refrigerator. Awk-ward! Just over a year ago, we decided to take our house off the market after five months without a c...

Thursday, May 31, 2012. Here are a few more stories I wanted to document so I didn't forget them:. Luckily Nicole was a great sport about it. Going along with the above story. In the bathtub one night, Finley pointed to her nipples and called them moles. I corrected her and told her that everybody has nipples - Mommy does, Daddy does and even our dog Rusty does. She paused for a second and then exclaimed, "Cody has nipples! Or just a simple "order?
