About me – I Spy with My Inner Eye
https://ispywithmyinnereye.wordpress.com/about
I Spy with My Inner Eye. I like to observe. I like art; I have been known to make art. I deeply dislike the separation that still exists in many people’s minds between people and nature, I’m even a bit uncomfortable with talking about being connected ‘with’ nature (it implies that separation) – instead I think that we. I think a lot about disability – particularly when I am ill, but not exclusively – and the dis-abling of people by the non-disabled world. Contact me: uninvisible71 at gmail.com. A way to ...

Up Close and Personal at Park Hill – I Spy with My Inner Eye
https://ispywithmyinnereye.wordpress.com/2015/02/07/up-close-and-personal-at-park-hill
I Spy with My Inner Eye. Up Close and Personal at Park Hill. February 7, 2015. March 6, 2015. The Park Hill flats. Sit atop Park Hill, the slope to the east of Sheffield Station. I’ve always thought of them as Sheffield’s Byker estate. Sheffield artist Mandy Payne has made some beautiful paintings of the Park Hill flats. Poetically painting with aerosol on concrete she presents them in a way that highlights the astonishing beauty of this hard architecture. A private girls school. Thanks for sharing your ...

Where is your Wildish Space? – I Spy with My Inner Eye
https://ispywithmyinnereye.wordpress.com/2015/08/02/wildish-space
I Spy with My Inner Eye. Where is your Wildish Space? August 2, 2015. August 3, 2015. I went to Pomona Island. Yesterday, a wildish space in the centre of Manchester squeezed between the old docks on the Manchester Ship Canal. And the sliver of the Bridgewater Canal. I first became curious about it in my second month in Manchester, when B joined me in exploring and orienting myself in my new home, and we walked along the canals to Salford Quays. Police our relationships with the place and each other.

Digital innovation in Manchester, UK. Thank you and goodbye, from SMC MCR. Recently, Julian Tait, Louise Bolotin, David Eaton and I sat down in Common and decided that the time had come to bring SMC MCR to an end. I write for a living and rarely suffer writer’s block but somehow it’s taken me weeks to prepare this blog post announcing the news. I honestly didn’t know how to approach it, but it’s got to come out at some point so I’ll just blurt it out. The first SMC MCR. Over the years, the SMC MCR commun...

July 2015 – I Spy with My Inner Eye
https://ispywithmyinnereye.wordpress.com/2015/07
I Spy with My Inner Eye. When the waiting ends. July 12, 2015. August 2, 2015. When the waiting ends. If you can really inhabit your bardo state – sit with the chaos, the uncertainty, the impatience that arise within it, and feel the spaciousness of it, you may find that at the end you emerge – it opens up – into a wild space, a place of almost infinite possibility where you will write new rules to live by. Things to go and see. A Sense of Place. How we make sense of where we are. What we carry with us.
