The World On My Doorstep. An ever-expanding postcard blog. On July 13, 2014. This gorgeous card comes from Susanne in the USA and really looks outside the box to find something that matches my love for ‘vintage map cards’. And I love it! It is so unique! Here you can see an old celestial map, dating to 1729 and the constellations as seen then. I love old paintings like this and the stars have always intrigued me. Thank you so much Susanne! It’s a hit! Posted in Art Imagery. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Passau | The World On My Doorstep

https://theworldonmydoorstep.wordpress.com/2014/07/13/passau

The World On My Doorstep. An ever-expanding postcard blog. Laquo; The Elbe Sandstone Mountains. On July 13, 2014. From Martina on a trip to Germany I received this card showing the city of Passau. Home to 50,000 people, more than 20% of the population of this city are students. Also known as the City of Three Rivers, Passau is the meeting point of the Danube, the Inn and the Ilz. As such, most of the touristic spots in Passau are located along the river. Very pretty card! Posted in Architectural Imagery.

The World On My Doorstep. An ever-expanding postcard blog. On July 13, 2014. This cool card comes from Sebastian in Germany and shows Moritzburg Palace. 8 miles from Dresden, this old Baroque castle dates to the 1500s and was built for its exceptional hunting grounds. February 15, 2014 at 4:58 pm. Actually, if you want to be REALLY geeky a maxicard is a card issued on the first day of a new stamp issue. It usually has the date of issue on the back, and the stamp and card AND postmark will be linked by image. 🙂 So they’re quite special. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here.

Wax On Daniel-san — Postcards. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Postcard of the famous ruins of Petra in southern Jordan. Petra was established as early as 300 BC. And was a prominent city in the region for nearly one thousand years until trade routes shifted during the Roman period and a series of earthquakes crippled the vital water management system. The city was gradually abandoned and forgotten to the West until 1812 when the site was reexplored by Swiss traveller Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. Can you help me?

It was founded in 1524 and was one of Spain's major colonial cities in the region. It is on Nicaragua's Tentative List for World Heritage as a mixed site: City of Granada and its natural environment. Muchas gracia. To friend Bobby for sending this card while on a Spanish language course.

Og her sitter jeg da, to måneder etter hjemkomst, uten å ha skrevet så mye som en eneste bokstav. Gamle amerikanere, og ikke bare et sjarmerende fåtall til glede for turistene. Send dette via e-post. Under the Apple Tree

Under the Apple Tree. Dry, Parched Land. I’ve been a numb mess for a long time. A mess, because I can’t seem to figure out who I am, where I’m going, or who I want to be. Numb, because I refuse to let the truth of that state of being sink in. Some might call that denial. I think it’s the state of being scared. I stumbled upon this verse:. Ldquo; You, God, are my God,. Earnestly I seek you;. I thirst for you,. My whole being longs for you,. In a dry and parched land. Where there is no water.”. Posted 2 ye...
