The Slug and the Beetle – Fable IV | The Writer's Apprentice

https://thewritersapprentice.wordpress.com/2011/08/03/the-slug-and-the-beetle-fable-iv

The Writer's Apprentice. The Slug and the Beetle – Fable IV. On August 3, 2011. Once upon a time, a slug liked to come out at night and eat the garden plants, taking big bites right out of the middle of the leaves. So, one night, as was his custom, he rose at ten sharp and headed for the cabbage. He saw there the choicest, juiciest leaf yet, but right in the middle of it was a big beetle. Sometimes, what we think is to be ours is not to be ours after all. 9654; No Responses. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

The Writer's Apprentice. The Mice and the Chuck Wagon – Fable V. On August 5, 2011. A kitchen mouse ended up one day in a chuck wagon headed west. On the first night, after the men had eaten and gone to bed, the kitchen mouse came out for his dinner–and just as he did, a field mouse was coming to the wagon for his. They scurried around adjoining corners of a cupboard and ran right into each other. With one voice they squealed: What are you doing here? 9654; No Responses. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The S...

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet: Dada - and Others

http://letartout.blogspot.com/2011/03/dada-and-others.html

Le Tartout : An Art Outlet. Thursday, March 31, 2011. Dada - and Others. Others. This one I like. Russian, born Ukraine. 1878-1935. Suprematist Composition.). Nice try, this 4'33" - but it lacks somehow the freshness and youthfulness of Dada. Too pretentious, demonstrative, self-referential, and too rational. Dada is anything but - it's instinctive, it is immediate. The immediacy and thoughtlessness of youth. And the applause at the end is jarring.). Posted by Le Tartout. March 31, 2011 at 1:32 PM.

Stomp the Yard (2007). Premiered January 12, 2007. This review was a mistake. During the 2000s, there was this vogue for movies about competetive dancing. The first one I remember was Bring It On. But the real tipping point into ubiquity was called You Got Served. I had confused this movie with that one. In 2007, dancing simply wasn’t something most people did. Instead, the vogue at the time was to stand silently at attention like that one scene in T he Madness of King George. My issue with Stomp the Yard.

The Writer's Approach | Loving life one word at a time

The Writer's Approach. October 26, 2014 · 10:25 pm. Running down a dream. Today, I ran my first half marathon. It has been a goal six years in the making. I came close in 2008, but then a stupid injury sidelined me. Illness, a couple of surgeries and pure laziness kept me from succeeding. Last January, when I was on a trip to LA with my sister, I knew I had to make a big change in my life. My health had to become my priority. After the run, with our hard earned medals. But I did it. And now I know I can ...
