Rose's Writing Journey: June 2008

http://roseswritingjourney.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Friday, June 27, 2008. I stole this meme from Deniz. Ah, the fun of doing a useless quiz when I should be getting over a rough spot in the novel. {eg}. What is the wallpaper on your computer? A boring Vista picture of grass with dew on it. How many televisions do you have in your house? Are you right handed or left handed? Left-handed, even when it's inconvenient. Have you ever had anything removed from your body? Not that I know of :P. What is the last heavy item you lifted? Already done it for free!

Rose's Writing Journey: August 2008

http://roseswritingjourney.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 11, 2008. Long time no see! It's been ages since I updated this blog last! But in this case at least, my silence here equals a great deal of productivity. In the last few weeks, I've upped the word count on the 2nd draft of Hidden Underground from 20,000 to 50,000, which means I'm now half finished. Hurrah! That's a good deal toward my goal of completing this stage before Christmas. Since it's my birthday today (blazing hot day at 120 degrees Fahrenheit! Excerpt #1 from Hidden Underground.

Rose's Writing Journey: February 2008

http://roseswritingjourney.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 24, 2008. Literally laughing out loud. Does it ever bug you how often you see the word literally used all wrong? From stories, to blogs, to new articles, and of course constantly in everyday speech, people love to use the word, ending up with some pretty ridiculous sounding assertions. My brother and I discussed our shared pet peeve about this the other day, which led to a googling challenge to see how many results we got for phrases like "his eyes literally popped out of his head" (eww!

My thoughts exactly...: December 2008

http://taraparker.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

8220;If you do not breathe through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don't write, because our culture has no use for it.” Anais Nin. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. I've been struggling lately with writing and motivation. The rush of Surrey has faded and now I'm sitting on my ass in my familiar ol' rut. Last night's dream (nightmare) may have just given me the kick that I need:. Thank God my son woke me up at 3:40am! I laid there watching him sleep and thinking: Am I really ...

Rose's Writing Journey: Losing Perspective

http://roseswritingjourney.blogspot.com/2008/05/losing-perspective.html

Friday, May 30, 2008. Writing Hidden Underground over the past seven years, the project's become such a part of me that I sometimes feel like I'm losing perspective. My list of criticsms of it could fill pages, but I don't know how to fix them, because I can't look at it objectively, even when I put it aside for months. In my self-critical viewpoint, I'm probably blowing the extent of its problems out of proportion. So what do you folks do when these blues hit? Posted by Rose D. View my complete profile.

My thoughts exactly...: Results!

http://taraparker.blogspot.com/2009/10/results.html

8220;If you do not breathe through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don't write, because our culture has no use for it.” Anais Nin. Thursday, October 15, 2009. After throwing my computer through the window and then realizing that rage won't solve anything, I asked one of the Web God's minions to help. Turns out he knows CSS. He fixed my no-picture problem, but now I need to get it centered. Still a work in progress. Posted by Tara Parker. October 15, 2009 at 10:57 PM.

This past weekend, I attended (for the first time) Surrey International Writers Conference in. It was without a doubt one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Excellent workshops, wonderful presenters, friendly agents (Rachel Vater from Folio was awesome! Vicki Pettersson’s class was just incredible. I also enj...

Blurbs. That's what I've been doing lately. Just Blurbs. I can't get into the story I've been slowly working on. I don't know if it's the plot or that I simply don't give a rat's ass about the characters (which, in my opinion, is pretty bad since they come from *my head*! Posted by Tara Parker. Welcome to The Writer's Road - a blog covering my journey to write a novel and what I learn along the way. Tuesday, November 2, 2010.
