The Writer's Workshop: NaNoWriMo
http://thewriterworkshop.blogspot.com/2012/10/nanowrimo.html
Where writers can be writers, where readers can be readers, where dreamers can be dreamers. Friday, October 19, 2012. I am writing a novel this November because of NaNoWriMo If you are 17 or younger, you can do the Young Writer's Program where you set the word count goal, or, if you are 13 or older, you can do the adult version where you aim to write a 50,000 word novel in a month. Try it, and you can get five copies of your book (or so I hear.). November 16, 2012 at 4:14 PM. View my complete profile.
The Writer's Workshop: The Tide of Unmaking
http://thewriterworkshop.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-tide-of-unmaking.html
Where writers can be writers, where readers can be readers, where dreamers can be dreamers. Thursday, September 13, 2012. The Tide of Unmaking. I recently read the Tide of Unmaking, Berinfell Three. And may I say, I can NOT believe they just did that. This is almost unheard of. In fact, it may be the first time it ever happened. But Wayne Thomas Batson and Christopher Hopper have released the rights. to us. They are encouraging. September 13, 2012 at 8:51 PM. Oh Wow. Awesome. September 14, 2012 at 7:19 AM.

Where writers can be writers, where readers can be readers, where dreamers can be dreamers. Friday, September 28, 2012. I was sitting in our cabin in Wyoming, and suddenly, I saw a black streak run by. I stepped outside, and, 30 feet away stood a moose! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). From A Jagged Inkwell: Skilled Characters
http://jagswiftstorm.blogspot.com/2013/08/skilled-characters.html
Thursday, 22 August 2013. Should characters be perfect? Skilled in everything, flawless, all-knowing, and all-powerful? Of course not. Or at least–not most of the time. 'Perfect' (or seemingly perfect) can have their places sometimes. But should characters be the opposite? Having no virtues, no skills, no learning, and no motivation? I would give the same answer as to the above question. No–or at least rarely. I've recently read two books of the Staff and Sword. Series– A Cast of Stones. And A Hero's Lot.

Friday, 12 July 2013. Keeping Track of Characters. I may get somewhat technical later on. However, I will try to keep this post so that everyone can understand it. Some books have small casts–of maybe around fifty characters total. Then there's others, with larger casts, maybe 200 total characters. And then there's the Lord of the Rings, with millions of characters. Okay, maybe not millions. But it does have a lot. This means that if (when writing a later book in The Arboreal Shadow. Column is a special ...
From A Jagged Inkwell: June 2014

Saturday, 28 June 2014. But epicness alone isn't enough. Epicness can be a taster to draw in readers, but it shouldn't be the full meal. Give a reader an epic story, and they'll probably remember it. But after it's been read enough times, the epicness wears thin. Reading about the same amazing scenes and magnificent structures over and over again can get tiring. But give them something that will stay with them forever. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

Monday, 11 August 2014. On Proving the Nonexistence of God. Let us assume that a divine being exists. Furthermore, this divine being, in addition to being immaterial and supernatural, is also omnipotent and omniscient. Any divine being possessing these characteristics could blind any non-divine being as to the existence of the divine being, and, if they wished, could make it appear that they never existed. Therefore, it is impossible for any non-divine being to prove the nonexistence of a divine being.
From A Jagged Inkwell: Sacrifice
http://jagswiftstorm.blogspot.com/2013/09/sacrifice.html
Saturday, 21 September 2013. This is the first in a (hopefully) series of posts co-written by me and fellow teenage author, R. A. H. Thacker, who can be found at Sunset Rising. This post can also be found at his blog. No, we’re not talking about human sacrifice. Or maybe we are. But we’re actually talking about self-sacrifice–and not some suicidal tribal custom, either. More specifically, how to use it in fiction. Why does sacrifice stir our hearts? Why does it affect us like nothing else? Therefore, I u...

Friday, 28 June 2013. Should you Create a Language? Quon you Desira ta Forme lein Lingyuanet? Translation: Do you want to create a language? Many writers will want to create languages for their worlds. And I don't mean just making up where the language came from, where it's spoken, etc. I mean making long lists of nouns and pronouns, adjectives and adverbs, prepositions and interjections. Creating the sentence structure, grammar, syntax, and punctuation. If you don't know the nine parts of speech in Engl...
