Contact the Wrong’Un. England Marks Out of 10. Are NZ all that bad? December 20, 2012 · 10:08 am. Big bats, small boundaries, slow wickets, big crowds. Ahoy it’s T20 time in India. I don’t know how I feel about T20 – the ECB’s frankenformat. I watch it, I enjoy it, but am ultimately left feeling like I’ve had a big bash on public transport. A bit shifty, hoping the CCTV didn’t pick me up. I also have theory that The BCCI are hatching a devious plan to destroy test cricket using T20. Here are the facts.

Contact the Wrong’Un. The picture on the blog is of great English Leg Spinner Eric Hollies. Don Bradman failed to pick a Hollies googly, was cleaned up and his average stayed below 100. Contact the Wrong’Un. Walk Don’t Walk. The Ashes. First test review. Time to push the panic button? August 21, 2013 · 10:56 pm. The Oval An Eventful Day One. It certainly was an eventful day all round. Featuring:. A drug addled David Bowie, used to pen lyrics by cutting up magazines and sticking the words back together. I think the England selectors took inspiration from the thin white duke, taking the scissors to a Playfair annual and sticking it back together. Two spinners and Woakes at 6! England need...

Contact the Wrong’Un. Walk Don’t Walk. →. March 5, 2013 · 8:50 pm. Are NZ all that bad? Firstly if the test were not one of cricketing skills, but of a man-off involving arm wrestling, hard liquor, female conquests on aircraft and stamping on glass, New Zealand would white wash England 3-0. New Zealand’s recent team training camp. Unfortunately it isn’t and on paper England have the consistency and discipline to mince the Kiwis, form them into burgers and sell them to ALDI as ‘beef’. The Full Toss Cricket Blog. Full on debate about English cricket. England’s worst ever XI. December 31, 2012. That unmistakeably rich baritone voice, like listening to a glass of mulled wine. Neither quite South African, nor Australian, nor English, but a blend of the three. Those trenchant, often ridiculous catchphrases, delivered with his unique combination of gravitas and hysteria. These are just a few of the things we’ll miss about the late, great Tony Greig. In the process his voice rose up several ...

The Full Toss Cricket Blog. Full on debate about English cricket. England’s worst ever XI. I don’t think so. December 27, 2012. Slater, Mark Waugh etc were going to have a field day. This is by far the weakest Australian team I’ve ever seen even if they’re currently winning the Boxing Test day test at a canter. Australia’s recent successes are therefore absolutely meaningless. England will be licking their lips ahead of the Ashes. Australia have two world class players in Clarke and the ageless Hussey, a...

Notes From a Cricket Novice. Surrey v Lancashire, 24-25th August 2016. Asymp; 1 Comment. Having moved onto 67, after driving Nathan Buck for four to the longest part of a particularly long boundary, Sangakkara slashes the next ball off the back foot straight to Haseem Hameed at gully and walks off shaking his head. A shame for him and the crowd, but a rare bright spot for Hameed in this match. 8217; Where will the careers of Haseem Hameed or Sam Curran take them? For much of the last twenty-or-so minutes...

The Full Toss Cricket Blog. Full on debate about English cricket. England’s worst ever XI. 1 V West Indies, Lord’s, 2000. This was the one in the dark. After the first two tests were drawn, Moin Khan’s side set us 176 on the final afternoon to clinch that rarest of prizes a series win in Pakistan. But time was running very short. With the fielders dawdling and night closing in, Graham Thorpe (64*) and Graeme Hick (40) somehow saw us home in conditions of near-darkness. The Oval, 2003. This was the Johnny...

The Full Toss Cricket Blog. Full on debate about English cricket. England’s worst ever XI. Put it, as if he was picking up his dry-cleaning. Admittedly, he staged a recovery of kinds when calling the final wicket at Melbourne: “Australia are beaten…well beaten…beaten into the earth! How flabby would Sky be without him? The Full Toss Cricket Blog. Full on debate about English cricket. England’s worst ever XI. The Sydney Test is not a cricket blogger’s friend. 2010 has finished and we’re desperate to write a ‘review of the year’ art. Icle However, it’s almost impossible to reach any solid conclusions until the fifth test has been completed. Couldn’t they have moved the Ashes forward a week? 2010 began with a drawn series against the Cricketboks – a result we had mixed feelings about. On the positive side we did...It was ...

A senile discourse by a cricket masochist who keeps one eye on the world wherever this bad-ass game is mimicked and the other on the shambles, globally known as Pakistan cricket. Contact the Wrong’Un. January 6, 2014 · 10:47 pm. Things we’ve learned from the Ashes 2013/2014. 1) Quinoa doesn’t help you to play cricket better. Lehman (apparently) eschews the goosefoot superfood for a beer on the bus if the boys do well. This difference in philosophy – England with an army of back room staff, every aspect of their lives tightly controlled right down to what they eat, contrasts sharply with the more earthy, retro and traditionally Australian approach of Lehman. 5) Age is just a number.
