All about the things I treasure most; family, knitting, sewing, cooking, gardening and whatever catches my fancy at the moment . September 20, 2009. Heres what I started with:. I had 2 layers of foam and had to remove one layer (except over the tummy area). I layered batting to smooth it out as best I could. Shes not exact but pretty darn close and will be very helpful for fitting. . I took a picture in a form fitting blouse to compare me and Francine:. July 04, 2009. I dont have any plans today, just...
To knit or not to knit: April 2006
http://knittinhere.blogspot.com/2006_04_01_archive.html
To knit or not to knit. Friday, April 21, 2006. Rose bag substitute Spring Bouquet. So I love the Rose bag, then I heard that Nicky Epstein was coming out with another book, Felted Flowers. That gave me an idea. I could knit the body of the bag Spring Green and then just make a bunch of different flowers out a variety of different yarns and then put them all together like a Spring Boquet. To knit or not to knit: May 2006

To knit or not to knit. Monday, May 22, 2006. It's not a rug. It's a trivet. And it bears absolutely no resemblence to the pattern in the book. The book is Leigh Radford's One Skein. I really liked the last project in the book, the Labrynth rug. Which obviously this is not. As I was digging through my stash, I found this yarn, which is beautiful and soft and I have a ton of. so I thought, Why not? Posted by Sandy @ 7:14 AM. Monday, May 15, 2006. Spring Fling bag 3. To knit or not to knit: November 2005
http://knittinhere.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
To knit or not to knit. Thursday, November 10, 2005. Forgive me fellow knitters, I have not been knitting as much as I should. It has been a rough start to the school year. I haven't quite gotten back into my knittin' groove, and it's November. This is my shrug, or at least the start of it. Hopefully, I will get my groove back and I will be able to show off my finished shrug before next July. Posted by Sandy @ 9:28 PM. View my complete profile. Artichokes and Pink Martini. To knit or not to knit. Wednesday, July 12, 2006. Ok, ok, purses are a weakness for me. But in my defense, they are easy, quick and they always fit. Here's the front pieces. I am now knitting the back and then there is the finishing. Argh, not my favorite thing. But hopefully it will be quick and easy to finish, or you will hear the whining. Posted by Sandy @ 10:26 PM. To knit or not to knit. Monday, August 15, 2005. Christmas in August. This is my first attempt at a Christmas Stocking. I used this fabulous pattern by Nancy Lindberg that makes it very easy to design and create your own stocking. The possibilities are unlimited. Of course mine is gianormous! Posted by Sandy @ 3:44 PM. Friday, August 12, 2005. Anyhow, I got this great puppy pattern from the knit baby Heads and Toes book. Posted by Sandy @ 4:25 PM. Monday, August 08, 2005. To knit or not to knit: March 2006
http://knittinhere.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
To knit or not to knit. Tuesday, March 21, 2006. A book that I had to pick up at the Retreat was Nicky Epstein's Fifteen Fabulous Felted Bags. This is the first one that I wanted to knit. The knitting was pretty quick and easy, but the sewing was long and tedious. Actually, some of the knitting got kind of repetative too. But, I really wanted to make this bag and now that it's all done, I absolutely over it! Posted by Sandy @ 9:27 PM. View my complete profile. Artichokes and Pink Martini. Its not a rug.

To knit or not to knit. Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Originally uploaded by sfarewell. Katie is modeling a hat from the knit baby Heads and Toes book. This is the 2-3 year old size. Looks a little big. Luckily I still have to throw it into the wash and felt it. I used Cascade 220 yarn. Like the colors? It's for a little husky fan that we know. Hopefully it will fit her better than it fits Katie. The Yarn Kitchen
Thinking out loud from 'The Yarn Kitchen' at Skeinz.com where yarn is created, not made. Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I feel like I've come full circle knitting a vest for my father in the very yarn I knitted my first adult garment in 30 years ago. The very first adult garment I ever made was a basic drop shouldered jumper for myself in Southlander. Bark I'm sure you'll remember the style, basically two rectangles, with minimal shoulder and neck shaping and truncated trapezoid sleeves and single ribbing.

The Yarn Lady
Saturday, February 26, 2011. What's so important about a LYS? Recently a man asked me why did I have a yarn shop when there were so many places on the internet to buy yarn? My response required no thinking. I have The Yarn Cottage because I needed it. First and foremost, I have a difficult time buying yarn from the internet. I can't feel it, touch it, feel it's touch in my hand and it's really hard to get a true color from a computer monitor. Enough said? Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Our Sugar Maple KAL...
