The End of My Tether? Friday, 2 September 2011. I do live life at the end of a tether – this tether being metres and metres of oxygen tubing! Although it does pose the question “Am I at the end of my tether? 8221; On some occasions I would certainly say ‘YES! 8217; Waiting for a transplant (double lung in my case) is not exactly at the top of one’s ‘to do list’. People who know me well will also know that I’m not exactly the most patient person! Or do we ask about it outright? And about organ donation.

The biggest news to report though is a little bit depressing. I have been experiencing excruciating chest pain in my left hand side for the last couple of weeks and after much investigation it transpires that I have a broken rib. Ouch! The End of My Tether? Tuesday, 28 August 2012. 28 Days Later (without the Zombies.). I’ve not really much to update in the way of moving forwards health-wise since my last blog post. I’m keeping myself positive but my infection is still yet to be adequately controlled. So my Intravenous Antibiotics were changed again on Thursday to Aztreonam, Tobramycin and Chloramphenicol. I have also had an intravenous anti-fungal Caspofungin added to my routine too. Luke - finally relaxing! Now, for more positive news!

I arrived at the Brompton on Friday despite the weather being as awful as it was! I'm just glad we went with hospital transport as there is no way we would have had enough oxygen to last the journey! Eight weeks was a personal best for me in terms of admissions, by no means a record, but still a long time.
