The light is bright at the tunnels end, there’s an extent to which it’s blinding. My ears are shot from the constant blasts and every pitch is grinding. I swung my sledge for fourteen straight, I moved a ton of earth today. The humming sound, the drone of steps, the ping of picks is all that left. There’s a sonnet song, fourteen hours long.

Surnames shamed the pseudonym, a shudder shake from synonyms, we are apart from all of them. If it even looked the same we buried it, the headstones formed a syllabus.
