Exit, Pursued by a Bear. The random musings of a writing, directing twenty-something. 8220;Exit, pursued by a bear” is an odd title for a blog, I admit. But it’s also an odd stage direction – and one of Shakespeare’s most famous. It appears in his play,. The Winter’s Tale. And is used to symbolise the off-stage demise of an exiting character. So why use it as my blog’s name? Or did he imagine another actor would dress-up like a bear and do the chasing? Which is more absurd? Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
