The home of northern hospitality. Pocono Lodge is located on Deer Lake in South River, about an hour north of Huntsville. It has been owned and operated by Bob and Patti Bantten for the last 28 years. Originally Pocono was made up of a few small cabins, it now boasts 6 cottages, each with its own distinct personality, a restaurant, and there is also a well equipped seasonal campground and beautiful sandy beach.

The home of northern hospitality. From Toronto, take the 400 North to Barrie, from Barrie take hwy 11 North to South River.Take exit to South River, Sundridge continue on old hwy 11. Turn left at Ottawa St. (stop lights), turn right on Eagle Lake Rd.(4-way stop), follow for 20 km, turn left on Pocono Rd.
All campsites with hydro and some with water hook ups. You can choose from a water front lot or a spot tucked back in the woods (secluded).

The home of northern hospitality. Campgrounds are seasonal sites only. All have hydro -some units with water hook up. Each Seasonal Campsite has its own fire pit. (fire safety is taken seriously). Firewood can be purchased at the Lodge. All campsites with hydro and some with water hook ups. You can choose from a water front lot or a spot tucked back in the woods (secluded). The campsites are conveniently located near the beach. There is a washroom located close by. With flush toilets.

The home of northern hospitality. Rustic - 2 bedroom. Chalet style - 3 bedroom. Efficiency 4 units available. Each unit sleeps 4 people. Modified american plan available - includes breakfast supper. Rental of all four units - sleeps 16 people includes recreation room (3000 sq. ft.) with satellite TV and kitchen facilities for a large group.
You can purchase leeches and worms at the Lodge.

The home of northern hospitality. When fishing in Deer Lake it is hard to come in empty handed or at least with some sort of fish tale. You know that one that got away. There are perch, small and large mouth bass, some catfish and pike (for those that are going for the big ones) in Deer Lake. Bass and Perch are most often located in the east end of the lake in the bay because of the shallower waters and weeds. While the west end is fairly deep with trenches holding huge pike.

Maybe even build a sand castle or two. If you are a boat owner don't forget to bring your skis, tube, wake board or knee board. The lake is calm in the mornings perfect for the avid waterskier. While in the afternoon the waves pick up which makes for great tubing conditions.
