The thimble duly arrived and we were amazed with the fineness of the work and the skill utilized by the maker to craft such a fine piece of ‘art’. We decided to further investigate filigree thimbles, their dates of manufacture and their countries of origin. Filigree work pre dates the manufacture of thimbles by many centuries.
