Things I recall with gratitude. Tuesday, April 18, 2006. My Grammie was a special woman of courage and conviction. Born the 6th of 7 children, she was the only girlchild of Dwight and Isabel Claflin Rich of Lyme, NH. I can only imagine what it meant to be the only girl in a family with 6 older males and one younger. I sang at her memorial service when she died at 93 (or was it 92? I must find out from the genealogical things my dad saved). I sang a song she used to sing to soothe me - Hushabye Time.

Things I recall with gratitude. Wednesday, May 10, 2006. Light of my life. I treasure this beautiful young woman. She is my 28 year old daughter. I was sick all through my pregnancy with her - all day long for the whole nine months! S with her cousin K. Elementary Ed and has gone on to teach both 4th grade and now 1st. Eleanor's Fabulous Spinach Pie (courtesy Eleanor Cordisco). 1 ready made pie crust - deep dish. 1 16 oz package grated mozzarella cheese. 1 cup grated parmesan cheese. 3 10 oz boxes frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry. 2 cloves garlic, chopped. From Jane Brody's Good Food Cookbook. 1 pound all purpose potatoes, washed but not peeled. 1 pound green cabbage, shredded (4 cups). 1 large onion, chopped (1 cup). 1/4 cup skim or low-fat milk. 1 tablespoon butter or margarine. 3 ounces sharp Cheddar, coarsely grated.
