Abilene Cecilia Belle (We're calling her Billie for short) arrived at 1:34 pm on November 1st. She's been, by far, our best "sleeper" ever, and is looking a lot like her big brother Zeke and her big sister Lotte.(who is smitten, but a touch jealous of all the attention. The idea of our Zanmi project is couldn’t be any simpler: We pay Haitian women $1 for each doll they make and we sell them in the US for $10 each. The gross profit of $9 goes back to Haiti for building metal roofs for these women. Zanmi means friend in Haitian Creole. So these are the Zanmi dolls.
