a la deriva: October 2007
http://souperlindz.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 22, 2007. My world is burning. It's so hard to sit here at work like always, gazing out the window at a wall of windows, and imagine the fire that's burning somewhere moderately near my house in San Diego. Thursday, October 11, 2007. I need someone to fix my shower. It's not like we can live with it like we live with the nonfunctional buzzer and intercom, the clogged dishwasher, and the dripping shower. Wednesday, October 10, 2007. The march of the cold. I'm getting a little worried.

a la deriva: violin lessons
http://souperlindz.blogspot.com/2008/06/violin-lessons.html
Wednesday, June 11, 2008. I spent more time staring at the dark graveyard of desks and dressers and couches and painted arches and picture frames that inhabited the basement outside his workshop than I did squeaking out the parts of songs I could remember after two weeks of not playing, convinced it was the violins that were out of tune and not I. a la deriva: December 2007
http://souperlindz.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 21, 2007. In a word: gentrificaton. When I first visited Wicker Park last January, it was a lot more urban and a lot less glamorous than I was imagining based on the constant praise my boyfriend was giving his new home. (Yes, this is the same area and/or park that the Josh Hartnett movie Wicker Park. If you haven't guessed, I'm talking about gentrification. Taken directly from the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary). Technically Wicker Park was gentrified already before I started college,...

a la deriva: May 2008
http://souperlindz.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Tuesday, May 20, 2008. At 1:00 am on Sunday morning as I was speeding along the freshly rained-upon sidewalk on my spiffy new bicycle (yes, the sidewalk, and don't worry, I didn't go further than that crack), the quiet moist air in my mouth, the wind brushing across my face and through my hair, I thought to myself as my lips moved into a smile, "This move was a great idea.". To what do I owe this amazing gift? She asked. I felt like Ralphie in The Christmas Story. I will be speeding around the city with ...

arrival gate: February 2009
http://arrivalgate.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 16, 2009. Joel Stein from the Los Angeles Times wrote. A lovely- I mean, scathing- critique of the "25 Random Things" Facebook trend. Patrick Reardon at the Chicago Tribune writes. I still haven't posted mine, nor do I think I'm going to. OK- maybe I'll post the first five here, just for fun. Even though Stein hates them, he still posts 25 of his own:. 3 I do miss nature, though. Saturday, February 14, 2009. So, because I come from a media background and am not used to being friends with...

arrival gate: the sun
http://arrivalgate.blogspot.com/2009/03/sun.html
Saturday, March 7, 2009. Perhaps you guessed, but I haven't been posting lately because i'm employed- that's right, employed. No longer on house arrest due to lack of money, I spend my spare time getting out and seeing things. This gives me more fodder for my blog (blodder, says little thinker. But it also gives me less time to write. Or, it appears, no time to write. I'll try to be better. I guess i'm making due without nature. But I wish it wasn't so difficult to find. arrival gate: on communication
http://arrivalgate.blogspot.com/2009/02/on-communication.html
Saturday, February 14, 2009. So, because I come from a media background and am not used to being friends with the communicators nor really trying to understand how they think, I am now doing my research. My research takes me to a lot of different websites that I frequent, or wish I frequented, or have never seen before. I have learned about Twitter. Newspapers can somewhat rely on right now is their advertising revenue, and it isn’t enough. 8221; So there’s really no guarantee at all that any of th...
