Thinking Out Loud: Salt Water in My Soul

http://thinkingoutloud53.blogspot.com/2011/03/when-i-turned-50.html

A head full of stories and lessons learned that need to be spoken out loud. Monday, March 14, 2011. Salt Water in My Soul. Two little sailors ready to take on the world. I turned 50 on Long Beach Island. Although I don’t live here anymore, it seems a fitting place to celebrate … in this place where my roots have been laid so deep. I am 50. Why not come “home” and rest awhile? I have traveled from merchant to merchant. I love the bay. At the end of Fourth Street in Surf City (when my Island roots were bei...

Thinking Out Loud: My Mother The Hurricane

http://thinkingoutloud53.blogspot.com/2011/03/my-mother-hurricane.html

A head full of stories and lessons learned that need to be spoken out loud. Sunday, March 6, 2011. My Mother The Hurricane. My mother wasn’t the best housekeeper. Actually it was a talent she never acquired. If you visited our house, you had to clear a space to sit down. This didn’t faze Mother though. In her mind you were coming to see her, not her house. When my sisters and I came home from school we'd find wet African Violets. 8221; It got to be that we didn't want to leave her alone for a day. While ...

Thinking Out Loud: Savannah's Blanket

http://thinkingoutloud53.blogspot.com/2011/03/savannahs-blanket.html

A head full of stories and lessons learned that need to be spoken out loud. Sunday, March 6, 2011. Sister and Mother diligently taught her too, sitting across from her, hour after hour, until she could crochet. Over the years my life took different twists and turns and crocheting. Of course if you really knew Mother, you would know that this was her way of not having people sitting there feeling sorry for her. It was also her way of not talking about being sick. “How are you feeling? Social worker. S...

Thinking Out Loud: Some Have March Madness - I Have March Memories

http://thinkingoutloud53.blogspot.com/2011/03/some-have-march-madness-i-have-march.html

A head full of stories and lessons learned that need to be spoken out loud. Saturday, March 12, 2011. Some Have March Madness - I Have March Memories. In like a lion and out like a lamb. Isn't that what they say about March? I've always had "issues" with March for exactly that reason. One never knows from one day to the next what the weather will bring. Or perhaps I have issues with March because I still remember, as though it was yesterday, a terrible coastal storm. My mother’s greatest concern wa...

We Could Not Ask for More: St. Patrick’s Day Eve Decathlon for 3 Year Old Supremacy

http://wecouldnotaskformore.blogspot.com/2011/03/st-patricks-day-eve-decathlon-for-3.html

Wednesday, March 16, 2011. St Patrick’s Day Eve Decathlon for 3 Year Old Supremacy. You read that right. Today while eating dinner, Drew explained that Carter and Brenna were going to have a heavy lifting competition after dinner to see who is stronger. Their crazy parents allowed the event to become a fun-filled after-dinner activity to focus everyone’s energy rather than continuing what everyone was doing before dinner (being cranky). Our initial event, Hula Hoop Jumping. Although the 10 Yard Dash.

Sommeroutfits in Weiß Otto Kleiderspende. Mittwoch, August 19, 2015. Heute gibt's was Neues!

Monday, May 11, 2009. The Spirituality of the Cell Phone. When was the last time you turned off your cell phone? Confession time - my cell phone is on 24/7 (during daylight hours my phone is set to vibrate and the ringer is on during the night). Now I do have a a very good reason why I do not turn off my phone. I am a pastor and keeping my cell phone on provides my congregation 24/7 access to me; and isn't that what being a pastor is all about? What does it mean to be God-like (created in the imago dei.

Thinking out Loud

October 31, 2016. Diwali is the festival of lights and banishing darkness and ignorance. In India (and now also many other parts of the world) Diwali is celebrated with lighting lamps and decorative lanterns, bursting crackers, wearing new dresses etc. etc. etc. Surely, Diwali is also a time for giving and sharing with those who are less fortunate. Bringing smiles to those who are homeless and those for whom every day is the same and there is no reason (nor the means) to celebrate. One comment so far.

A chance to say hello … I will respond. I'm a teacher, again. To me writing is currently a release. I haven't quite decided to what degree it is I'm searching within my words, yet, I feel something matters somewhere, right? August 16, 2015. I can hear the sound at night,. The clasp when the handle shakes. As the door slams shut. This is not an offensive sound,. Simply the mechanics of the entry. Tonight, while I lay in bed,. Having usurped the beauty of summer’s heat,. My head is gradually shifting,.
