Scooter's Healthy and Active Living Weblog: July 2005

Scooter's Healthy and Active Living Weblog. Monday, July 25, 2005. I am hopeful, though realistic, in my doubting that unless an Amercan contends overall, things like OLN's coverage of the tour will disappear in the next several years. The other piece of baggage that goes with that is the probability that Discovery and CSC may not continue to sponsor teams, which will hurt cycling in the USA. Pump your tires and get out there! Who knows, your kid could be the next Lance! Posted by Scooter at 10:47 AM.

A First-Time Marathoner Prepares For 26.2 Miles. Archive for January, 2007. Refueling After a Long Run. January 26, 2007. A lot of people take to running because it’s one of the best ways to lose weight. Logic would dictate, then, that training for a marathon would be a good way to lose. Of weight. Right? Well I’m not so sure. Last Sunday, I got up, ate a large bowl of my favorite cereal, and ran 14.2 miles. So that was very healthy and I burned a lot of calories and fat. Great. January 20, 2007. As it h...

Places to Run in Atlanta | Georgia Marathon Training

A First-Time Marathoner Prepares For 26.2 Miles. Places to Run in Atlanta. Atlanta, I am told, is one of the most popular cities for running in the entire country. There are a lot of reasons for this–decent weather, good sidewalks, and a lack of much else to do out of doors. Except for the pollution and the traffic and the criminals–all of which can kill you on a whim and without remorse–it’s not that bad. Here are the places I’ve written about so far:. ING Georgia Marathon | Georgia Marathon Training

A First-Time Marathoner Prepares For 26.2 Miles. As soon as I heard about the ING Georgia Marathon. I decided that it would be my first marathon. I chose to run the ING Georgia Marathon for a couple of reasons. First, it was a new marathon in Atlanta, which was what I was looking for. The Atlanta Marathon, which follows the course of the the 1996 Olympic marathon, is a thoroughly hard-core affair for runners who just want to run a serious marathon. I’ve adopted Atlanta as my hometown for a certain ...
