Thinking the Mount . . .: Six Hours in the Life of a Mount Student Volunteer

http://thinkingthemount.blogspot.com/2010/03/six-hours-in-life-of-mount-student.html

Thinking the Mount . . . Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Six Hours in the Life of a Mount Student Volunteer. For me, volunteering is always both fun and rewarding. Knowing that you are able to help and have fun as well is surely worth one's time. On March 5, I had a chance to put six hours of my time to very good use, when I was a volunteer at Explore the Mount, our winter Open Campus Day. Well, ok, I said walking up the hill is always a challenge. But hey! Raffle time was SO exciting! Students were grouped int...

Thinking the Mount . . .: April 2010

http://thinkingthemount.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Thinking the Mount . . . Thursday, April 22, 2010. The members of our Mount community take pride in trying to make efforts towards becoming more sustainable and contributing towards our community and the environment. One of the ways we do this is each year, on Earth Day, the staff and faculty of the Mount all pitch in to do a big campus clean-up. This is my third year going (of the four we’ve been doing it) and it’s always a great time. So what kind of garbage do you find in that area? It includes all of...

This WordPress.com site is the cat’s pajamas. August 15, 2012. According to thefreedictionary.com. A logical fallacy is “a fallacy in logical argumentation.” It is a flaw in reasoning. And many atheistic arguments commit them. A lot of the arguments non-believers put up are just plain faulty, and truthis nowhere to be found in them. Let’s define various logical fallacies, shall we? Strawman: a misrepresentation of someone’s argument to make it easier to attack. Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc: the logical fall...

Thinking the Journey

Mountaineer, Friend, Partner, Youth Worker, Spiritual Adventurer of No Fixed Abode. Wednesday, January 03, 2007. How human are we? So to someone who's rejecting fundamentalist faith, turning away from the dogma, sifting the relevance of Christianity what does Christmas mean? Jesus became human, so we can become human. So why is Christmas so often such a dehumanising experience filled with want, greed, arguments, stress, unhealthy lifestyles? Is this really how to celebrate Jesus birth? Just had my first ...

As Thomas Jefferson said: "I didn't order the beans.". Where To Find My Writing For FREE! Wednesday, August 12, 2015. Picture Of The Day. Last night I took Mr F outside with me to replant the peas and peppers we'd been growing in little pots on our driveway. The seeds were from the library; they let you 'borrow' seeds if you promise to bring seeds back in the fall, and we did that. Except that I don't mind them being there. A weed is any plant you don't want growing where it is. My mom said once. After t...

How It All Started | My affair with who I thought was "The One"

How It All Started. My affair with who I thought was The One. Long time no seea. February 7, 2016. Hello all, I realise that I haven’t logged on for a while which has meant I haven’t posted for a while. Truth be told, I haven’t needed to post. There is no other story anymore. I would obviously love to say that I was the one to finish it completely, to say it face to face and to be honest with him, but no, I wasn’t. I didn’t end it. 2016 is my start as a different woman; I am 6 stone lighter than last yea...

Thinking Theologically

Saturday, August 16, 2014. The Sin Stopping Power of Grace. Romans 6:14 is an incredible verse. It reads, "For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace." Do you usually hear preachers preaching against sin by preaching "law"? 8221; Simon answered, “The one, I suppose, for whom he cancelled the larger debt.” And he said to him, “You have judged rightly.” Then turning toward the woman he said to Simon, “Do you see this woman?
