From Feather to Fish: August 2014
http://fromfeathertofish.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
From Feather to Fish. Ramblings of an Obsessed Fly Fisherman. Tuesday, August 12, 2014. I'm late to the video game. In fact, I have the technical acumen of those many generations before me. In any event, here goes nothing. We jumped a bunch of fish and got some on video. In true fishermen fashion, the camera wasn't rolling when the fish got close to the boat. Until next year. Michissippi Fly: Flea Market Finds
http://michissippifly.blogspot.com/2013/07/flea-market-finds.html
Monday, July 1, 2013. A few weeks ago I took Mrs. Michissippi to the flea market. In Mobile, Alabama to look for a birthday present for her. She'd been wanting to go the flea market for months, and I'd been avoiding it like the plague. We didn't find a birthday present, but we did find something else. Funny how things work out. Two new (to me) rods and a reel. One of the rods is fiberglass and the other is graphite. I believe that both are 8 weights. Time to land a red on glass! Fish / Game / Wildlife.

From Feather to Fish: Evolution of Modern Streamers
http://fromfeathertofish.blogspot.com/2015/03/evolution-of-modern-streamers.html
From Feather to Fish. Ramblings of an Obsessed Fly Fisherman. Wednesday, March 11, 2015. Evolution of Modern Streamers. In his book the Compleat Angler. The Woolly Bugger can imitate a minnow or swimming insect depending on the size of hook and color scheme. Suffice to say, the use of flies to imitate smaller fish or swimming prey dates back to the beginning of fly fishing history. Beyond the Woolly Bugger, fly fishermen developed feather-wing streamers ("featherwings"), which were far more complicated a...

From Feather to Fish. Ramblings of an Obsessed Fly Fisherman. Monday, April 21, 2014. At one of the larger ponds I did see a HUGE dead bass. I can confidently say it would have gone 6-8 pounds. Sad to see a dead fish that size but I was encouraged about the fact that it existed at all. Real deal fishing reports to come. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Great Fly Fishing Quotes. Carp on the Fly: So easy an 8 year old can do it
http://carponthefly.blogspot.com/2015/05/so-easy-8-year-old-can-do-it.html
Carp on the Fly. Sunday, May 03, 2015. So easy an 8 year old can do it. Sort of. JJ is a trooper, but putting a fly within 4 inches of a carp he can't really see is well beyond his current skills. Still, he makes a great net guy, and if I hook em, he is willing to wrangle them into submission for me. I remember days with my dad from when I was a kid. Good days.days like today with my own son. Here is to many more. Posted by John Montana. Great pictures, John! Looks a great partnership. At least he didnt ...

Carp on the Fly: Sometimes it comes together
http://carponthefly.blogspot.com/2015/04/sometimes-it-comes-together.html
Carp on the Fly. Monday, April 20, 2015. Sometimes it comes together. When things are right on the big C, things are REALLY right. The sun came out, the fish came out, and shit got crazy in a hurry. Yesterday, I caught more carp than I have ever caught in a single day on the Big C.and that isn't a small number. Insane fishing. Some days you just end up smiling. Posted by John Montana. And just how many did you get? Man i gotta hit up the river soon! Must be wore out. What a day. Nice work man. A Decisive...
