Shades of Blue: August 2012
http://shadesofblue-serene.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 29, 2012. I picked up this tool at Michael's a couple of weeks ago not knowing what to expect. I'd seen a video for it but I can be a skeptic so I held off judgment on it. It felt light in my hands and I wasn't really sure it was going to work or even be worth the money. But I had a 50% off coupon so I figured what the heck. I LOVE ribbon, especially satin ribbon, but I'm not a fan of frayed edges. This nifty tool eliminates those pesky threads. I'm really pleased with my ribbon cutter ...

Saturday, September 22, 2012. Really Cool RAK/Birthday Present. So last Sunday night, I came home from a work dinner to find Logan freaking out with joy. I'm telling you, the kid was over the moon jumping up and down and grinning like a fool from ear to ear. I, of course, was surprised and more than curious what could have elicited such an overwhelming display of emotion from my normally unimpressible, whatevah kind of attitudy teenager. Logan explained that Dave had just brought it over and given it to ...

Shades of Blue: March 2013
http://shadesofblue-serene.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 18, 2013. I guess my asking Mother Nature to keep winter away fell on deaf ears because we've got another snow storm in full swing right now. It started as sleet earlier tonight but now we've got big flakes and it's sticking. It's hard enough hobbling around on crutches and a walking boot in good weather. This snow is just making things harder. I need spring and a new ankle. On a happy note, I saw carts of pretty, colorful flowering plants outside the supermarket today. Snow, snow go away.

Shades of Blue: February 2013
http://shadesofblue-serene.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 22, 2013. Hello again, everyone. As promised, I'm back with another post to tell you where we went after seeing the 9/11 Memorial. Naturally, due to the serious tone of the memorial we were ready for some more upbeat fun. We left downtown Manhattan and hopped the subway to the heart of Times Square where we went to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. This was another place none of us had been. Not many could pull that off, for sure! Here's one of Robin Williams and Logan. Nathan Lane and the Gang.

Shades of Blue: November 2012
http://shadesofblue-serene.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 6, 2012. At the end of the day, it's nice to come home to some furry sweetness. Here's wishing you some sweetness at the end of your day. Monday, November 5, 2012. Good and Bad from Sandy. We were very fortunate in that we didn't sustain any damage other than 2 downed trees on our block one of which can be seen here. This tree missed Jim's car by 6 feet. We never lost power although our lights flickered for hours threatening to go out. When we entered the college yesterday, I was touche...

Sunday, February 22, 2015. Hello, Long Lost Blogger Friends! I hope you are all well. It's been quite some time since I posted to my long forgotten blog. Can't really even say why I stopped posting but I'm looking forward to getting back to blogging. Another thing that happened is together with my friend, Ora, we created a company called Fun Crops. We host monthly 12-hour crops at a local hotel. We have a Meetup group called Queens Scrapbooking / Project Life. We also have a Facebook. If you are in the N...

Caterpillars for breakfast! | Jim's Pancakes
http://www.jimspancakes.com/2011/01/caterpillars-for-breakfast
January 16, 2011. I had some leftover green pancake mix and I was trying to figure out something to do with it. Hmmm….what’s green? Nah, already made one. Gross Wait, what about a ‘cute’ insect? Parts to the caterpillar pancake. Let the whole thing sit on the griddle for a bit to make sure it’s fully cooked, then do your best to flip him without breaking into 3 pieces (this is version 2.0 for me). Add some chocolate chips for eyes and enjoy! Be Sociable, Share! Nah, already made one. Insects? My ex husba...

Wednesday, November 6, 2013. Down Under - New Zealand Part 2. So here are some more pictures of my son's amazing trip to the other side of the world. I hope you enjoyed the pictures from yesterday's post. I have lots more to share with you today and I can even give a bit more detail about some of these pictures. Now what trip to New Zealand would be complete without a visit to Hobbiton? What a cute house. I love the round doors. Look at the smile on my son's face. Is he happy or what? Well, that's all fo...
