10 Miles above Ground Level. Solar Auxilia Charonite Ogryns. I’m happy to say, I’ve finished my Ogryns! Beautifully sculpted, they fit together like a dream and were a joy to paint. I love the large areas of fluorescent orange I was able to do, and I’m particularly proud of the face on the one with his mask open. All this means is that I actually have nearly enough force to play with them! I’m thinking next on the force will be a lasrifle squad and a Dracosan Transport. January 30, 2016.

The cultists will only go up the one step, but the acolytes will go up to the light blue. I’m going for a starry cloak effect. Now everybody has eyes! Here is an update with another Ultramarine project- a Sicaran Relic tank. I've painted this the same way as my WIP Centurion, with several blue paints to build up the colour, I'm really happy with the overall look of the blue base colour- the combination of washes and glazes give a more natural colour, rather than it looking quite flat. Xiphon Pattern Interceptor WIP - Heat Effects. Just a quick mini update, I had to share. I thought the Xiphon deserved a little heat staining on the engine exhausts and after a quick delve into the FromTheWarp. Archives from the talented Ron (hope he is enjoying his hiatus away from blogging) I found a simple tutorial of how to achieve this effect using simple washes.
