The House of C and E: July 2012
http://houseofcande.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
The House of C and E. Friday, July 13, 2012. Links to this post. Hot Fun in the Summertime. Has it really been more than a month since I posted? Good heavens. Summer does that. Just yesterday, June was beginning, and now we're halfway through July. Here are some garden pix, but they are, again, rather dated. I'll try to get some new ones this weekend:. The Yukon Gold potatoes are dying back a bit now, but at their peak they were a healthy and bushy two-feet tall:. Peppers, all of which now have offspring:.

The House of C and E: April 2013
http://houseofcande.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
The House of C and E. Saturday, April 20, 2013. Up then from the ground sprang I. And hailed the Earth with such a cry. As is not heard save from a man,. Who has been dead, and lives again. About the trees, my arms I wound;. Like one gone mad I hugged the ground;. I raised my quivering arms on high;. I laughed and laughed into the sky". Up then from the ground sprang I And hailed the earth with such a cry As is not heard save from a man Who has been dead, and lives again. About the trees my arms I wo...

The House of C and E: January 2013
http://houseofcande.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
The House of C and E. Thursday, January 10, 2013. If I Have Seen Further. But in more exciting news (at least for me), I finalized one of C's Christmas's presents yesterday. The headlight lenses on her car were terribly clouded over. It's quite impressive how foggy they've gotten over the years. Essentially, her car has the automobile equivalent of cataracts. Here's what they looked like yesterday before I began working on them:. Here's how they turned out:. So, there you go: perspective.

The House of C and E: August 2012
http://houseofcande.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
The House of C and E. Friday, August 3, 2012. Posting and painting have been slower-going for me this year. Here's a chance to make up some ground for both. As mentioned in an earlier post, we've decided to paint the dining room grey. Not just grey: Woodlawn Silver Brook. Fancy! The dining room has been primed and ready to go for some time, so now that we had the color picked out, the painting should go fast, right? Oh, mice and men. Step 1: Paint th. Step 3: Paint a light coat of the wall color (grey) a...

The House of C and E: When the River Meets the Sea
http://houseofcande.blogspot.com/2013/09/when-river-meets-sea.html
The House of C and E. Tuesday, September 3, 2013. When the River Meets the Sea. It's been a summer unlike others here at the House of C and E, and one that has not lent itself to blogging. I know we've written more "we're back" posts than regular posts for a while now, but with luck, and perhaps a little guidance from unanticipated quarters, we are, really, back. So to restart, how about a bit of a recap? This will mostly be outdoors, while E hopes to post some indoor shots shortly. This way, friends:.

The House of C and E: The Vole Truth
http://houseofcande.blogspot.com/2013/10/the-vole-truth.html
The House of C and E. Thursday, October 3, 2013. For some reason, I thought voles were something found in another part of the country. I think they merged in my mind with the boll weevil, an entirely different cause for increased aspirin sales. Well, this year, I found out I was quite wrong. This spring, before the grass really grew back, I noticed surface trails through part of our lawn, two-inch wide tracks that looked like long, narrow cave-ins. "Moles," pronounced Mom. "Well, what do I do?

The House of C and E: July 2013
http://houseofcande.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
The House of C and E. Friday, July 12, 2013. So E called C at work today. "So those cabinets." "Take them out. Do it. Just go.". We've been wanting them down since we moved in, to open up the space between the green/family room and the kitchen. A deal was struck to take them down on or after January 2, once the holidays were over, in case, there was any scarring beneath. January 2 became July 12, but no matter. Links to this post. The House of C and E: September 2012
http://houseofcande.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
The House of C and E. Tuesday, September 18, 2012. House of C and E Recipe Exclusive! The tomatoes are coming in faster than we know what to do with. Taking a recipe from C's mom, N, we've came up with this simple little recipe that's great for using up the torrent of tomatoes (and any other goodies from the garden that you'd like to use up) that occurs this time of year. Tomatoes - as many as you can use. Garlic - several cloves. Links to this post. Saturday, September 8, 2012. Links to this post. This ...
