On my crazy Priscilla. She is bright, bold and certainly not a conformist. The brigth spiral I appliqued on the front was sold to me as an African wax print. I really doubt that it is, but nevermind. The back of her is patchwork and spiral quilted - same as the front, with a variegated green topstitch cotton. I continued the craziness on the interior with a bright stripey fabric and roomy pockets. Priscilla really is zany, but I do love her. Posted by Cecilia Steyn. Links to this post. Homely Homegrown: February 2011
http://homelyhomegrown.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, February 26, 2011. Little Green Riding Hood. Finally took a moment to snap a couple pictures of Josie's green hoodie that I finished a while back. I had a little trouble with the seaming, and I am not crazy about the shape. The overall effect is pleasing, though, and I love the color. Thursday, February 24, 2011. Today, I made a very decedent, buttery pear cake using the Seattle Times recipe for Apple Butter Cake. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Wednesday, February 16, 2011. Monday, February 7, 2011.

Homely Homegrown: Jammers
http://homelyhomegrown.blogspot.com/2013/01/jammers.html
Monday, January 21, 2013. I am not a great baker. But. I got inspired by grand central bakery, and their jammers. They are out of this world. Buttery, salty, perfect biscuits with a dollop of sweet jam in the middle. So when I saw the grand central baking cook book on my moms shelf, I decided to try and make a knock off batch. And they were pretty good! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Homely Homegrown: Scrap ABCs
http://homelyhomegrown.blogspot.com/2013/01/scrap-abcs.html
Sunday, January 6, 2013. Well, I stole another brilliant idea from Pinterest. So fun! I think I am more into these than Josie :). I am so pleased that i happened to have fabric that fit the alphabet: owls for the O, strawberries for the S, zigzags for Z etc. Only problem is that with only one of each letter we don't get far when we try to spell things! Next up, lower case letters. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Whatever the method that's used, it ought to pay attention to the difference in aptitudes and teach in such a way that all children are treated with equal love." - Martin Luther. Homely Homegrown: September 2012
http://homelyhomegrown.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 22, 2012. What do you do when you have more tomatoes than you can eat? Monday, September 17, 2012. I already have big plans for next year. Our own raspberry bushes and maybe more blueberries an currants in the backyard, and at least 2 fruit trees for the front, maybe another raised bed too! It will take a few years for them to get established, but we are finally living in a home we plan to stay in. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.
