This Domestic life

Friday, February 27, 2015. Jason got the old door ripped out. I had never been so happy to throw something out! We started inspecting the flooring, and we realized the rot had spread under this wall. Now, you can see the floor, and just how OLD and dingy it was (minus the mud tracks from the dogs). I was never a fan of this wall, it was a wall to divide the fining room from the kitchen. The dog crates sat on it which you can see how gross the wall was from then sleeping there. I determined it wasn't load...

Make Hot Cookies: Making Yogurt, part 1

http://makehotcookies.blogspot.com/2011/04/making-yogourt-part-1.html

Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Making Yogurt, part 1. I am on doctor's orders to eat yogurt every day. Well actually, she told me to eat yogurt three times a day, but I just can't consume that much yogurt. She recommended that I try to make my own yogurt because it's easier, cheaper, and tastes better than store bought. I bought some freeze dried yogurt starters, and I finally got around to trying it out. Great, one more appliance to clutter up my cupboard. What do you all think? Have you tried this before?

The Perils of Indepedance | thecraftygeekystarfish

The adventures of a working starfish who likes to craft…. December 7, 2011. The Perils of Indepedance. I did not make this blog to whine, I told myself yesterday and all of today’s morning. But I did make it, aside from sharing my arts and crafts and everything in between, to mainly document and make a record of my life as of lately. And it’s not a whine at all. Don’t get me wrong I’m a very happy person. And keep those X-mas presents and the order I got going. Love and Regency novels,. 🙂 And yes, Auste...

The adventures of a working starfish who likes to craft…. January 27, 2012. So, I haven’t posted in a month and a half, I have been discouraged at the lack of my crochet things that I always forget to borrow and portray to show the blogosphere. But hey, I have been moving from my old place into my boss’s house, and I suck at packing, but it was achieved with the help of my super marvellous incredibly tidy boyfriend. I was tired. It’s not their fault. For real, this made me cry out of anger and impotence&...

Busy bee and garlic soup recipe | thecraftygeekystarfish

https://thecraftygeekystarfish.wordpress.com/2011/12/15/busy-bee-and-garlic-soup-recipe

The adventures of a working starfish who likes to craft…. December 15, 2011. Busy bee and garlic soup recipe. Oh gosh, I’ve been so busy, too busy to bother blogging, bad, bad Starfish! I’m way better from the sore throat of death, but I still feel like my brain is made of boogers… a little. ( yum, eh? Also I forgot the camera at the bf’s , so I can’t take piccies of the football scarf I made for the mini skater. I have a pattern! I made one, I feel oh so proud! So I have to have things at least decent.

Make Hot Cookies: Brown Sugar

http://makehotcookies.blogspot.com/2011/04/brown-sugar.html

Tuesday, April 12, 2011. I made peanut butter cookies last night with my kids. I love peanut butter cookies, but even better than the cookies themselves is the dough. I think it is the best cookie dough of all. So finally I gave up and decided to use white sugar and molassass. I read on wikipedia. Mmmmm, I love the way brown sugar mixes with peanut butter. Sometimes when I'm craving peanut butter cookie dough, I'll dip a tablespoon in peanut butter and then dip it in sugar, and then eat it up. :). Dinner...

Make Hot Cookies: July 2012

http://makehotcookies.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 19, 2012. Dear coffee shops of the world,. Your chai tea lattes suck. Really, this includes all of you. Why do you think we want chai flavored syrup in milk? Why not call it a chai milk steamer? It's too sweet. It's too milky. When I drink tea, I expect there to be. In my cup. Ok fine, I have been to one or two independent coffee shops where they brewed there own chai, but honestly, I wasn't impressed. Why spend the five bucks? I make better chai tea at home. 3/4 cup brewed black tea.

Make Hot Cookies: March 2011

http://makehotcookies.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Tuesday, March 15, 2011. So I'm trying it my mother's way. It works particularly well with Sugar cookies, because they are so versatile. If I want to roll them out and cut them with cookie cutters, I can do that easily with just one batch of cookies. So there you go, mom. As usual, I am doing it your way in the end. Sugar Cookie Dough prepared for freezing. I didn't have any parchment paper, but I figured tin foil would work just as well). Monday, March 14, 2011. A World of Baking,. 2 tsp baking powder.

Make Hot Cookies: Feminists, Historians, Mothers: Take Note

http://makehotcookies.blogspot.com/2011/05/feminists-historians-mothers-take-note.html

Saturday, May 7, 2011. Feminists, Historians, Mothers: Take Note. I found this booklet at an estate sale today. It is a pamphlet developed by Modess Sanitary Napkins in 1953; a handy little guide for all those tough questions every girl has about puberty but is too embarrassed to ask her mother. It fascinates me how much womens' lives have changed in just 58 years. I think it would be interesting to compare this pamphlet to a similar "what's happening to my body? May 8, 2011 at 9:34 AM. Horseback riding ...

Saturday, January 22, 2011. I am still alive, and painting. Hope everyone is well :). Thursday, December 23, 2010. I finished my exchange gift in time! My Ultimate To-Do List. Sunday, January 8, 2012. And with 2012 finally here, I can only wonder what can possibly happen next. I'm actually hoping that it will be a quieter year. No moves, big events, babies, or anything. Just some time for the family to coalesce as a whole. I mean, what really could happen (I know, famous last words, right?
