DC Spinster: January 2015
http://dcspinster.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
About running and life in the DC area. Tuesday, January 6, 2015. One of my favorite memories from law school is a party some students in my small section threw at their townhouse to celebrate the end of our three years of study. I was an oddity in my small section in that I was older than everyone else in the section and I had three kids already. The only problem was that Jimmy didn't know how to push the dispensing lever on the outlet to allow the beer to flow after being pumped. But amidst Jimmy's ...

DC Spinster: Great Expectations
http://dcspinster.blogspot.com/2015/07/great-expectations.html
About running and life in the DC area. Wednesday, July 15, 2015. I'm reading Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. It sure is slow going but it sure is good reading. Some paragraphs are a page long! Stead, what, a Harry Potter book? This reduces the stern old spinster, who never left her bridal party room when jilted at the altar decades earlier, into a weeping and prostrate. Supplicant whom Pip comforts. The evolution of a boy-turned-fop into a freestanding, freethinking young man who- what? Another Mi...

DC Spinster: April 2015
http://dcspinster.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
About running and life in the DC area. Thursday, April 2, 2015. I received an I-Phone today at work, so as of 4 pm on April 2, 2015 my life was transformed! I went around to all my friends at work staring at the implement assigned to me, an I-Phone 6 so no big deal apparently, telling them that my life had been transformed by receipt of this device and that I was practicing worshipping my palm (with this miraculous God-device cradled within my palm). About running and life in the DC area. Monday, March 30, 2015. Yesterday was a full day. I attended church and we conducted the early part of the service in the frigid cold outside before retiring inside after receiving a palm shoot, where we listened to readers reading a biblical passion passage in lieu of listening to a sermon. Links to this post. Sunday, March 29, 2015. DC has wonderful running venues that often present wonderful sights. Links to this post. Friday, March 27, 2015. Links to this post.

DC Spinster: Happy Place
http://dcspinster.blogspot.com/2015/07/happy-place.html
About running and life in the DC area. Saturday, July 11, 2015. I been running, yeah. I'm in a happy place currently with it, having logged over 100 miles last month. (The Washington Monument is ever-present on the Mall, as seen from the veranda of the Lincoln Memorial.). I run with friends usually. Sometimes I run alone, but that's work and not as much fun. (Interesting cloud cover over the Lincoln Memorial.). Like this for celebrating her birthday. Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 4:55:00 AM EDT. DC Rainmak...

About running and life in the DC area. Saturday, February 28, 2015. And Still More Happy Happy. Happy b'day, youngest son (pictured here with your loving Grandmother, who gave the money that allowed you to go to the Gow School, and was generous with me as well which enabled me to fully fund your college tuition and fees). I trust that you are alive (your Mother wouldn't tell me when I asked her in Nov.) and hope that you are well (she wouldn't tell me that either). Links to this post. And More Happy Happy.

DC Spinster: Great Expectations--Monetary or Personal?
http://dcspinster.blogspot.com/2015/07/great-expectations-monetary-or-personal.html
About running and life in the DC area. Friday, July 24, 2015. Great Expectations- Monetary or Personal? I finally finished Great Expectations- Pip's great expectations have vanished, leaving him in debt but also forcing him to undergo redemption and turn from a fop into a man. Perhaps the point of the book is that great expectations aren't monetary, as it's ruinous to expect to be made happy by money, but rather great expectations are personal, as associations are ultimately rewarding. Old School Runner ...

DC Spinster: November 2014
http://dcspinster.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
About running and life in the DC area. Thursday, November 27, 2014. On this Thanksgiving, I am grateful to have received information within this past week about my oldest son, Jimmy Rogers, thanks to an anonymous comment on this blog which I had deleted thinking it was spam since it contained an unknown URL. Regretfully, I have heard nothing from or about Jimmy for over seven years. (A hat-trick striker and reserve goalie for the McLean Sting, ca 1999.). Not knowing their addresses or phone numbers, but ...
