Stop Blogging: Use Relevant Images

http://thisisironic.blogspot.com/2008/01/use-relevant-images.html

The irony does not escape us. Thursday, January 31, 2008. If you feel the need to include a picture with each post, use a relevant image or don't include one at all. We understand that you may feel compelled to add a photo to "kick it up a notch" and spark ocular excitement with visual cues. But, your photo isn't relevant to what you're saying and it detracts from any point your post may have had. It makes you even less credible. Use images sparingly and only when it enhances the punchline.

Stop Blogging: December 2007

http://thisisironic.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

The irony does not escape us. Thursday, December 27, 2007. Posting size and frequency should be proportionate to purpose and popularity. Focused bloggers can afford to post frequently. That discipline yields readership. Examples: Feminist Law Professors. Note that post lengths are inversely proportionate to post frequency: either posts are lengthy and occasional, or short and plentiful. Also note that you need not read every word to get the point. Activity of the day:. What's an appropriate BPP? Take thi...

Stop Blogging: Stop Commenting

http://thisisironic.blogspot.com/2008/01/stop-commenting.html

The irony does not escape us. Saturday, January 26, 2008. If you cannot write an intelligent post, keep your comments to yourself. . In the blogosphere, comments are visceral and reactionary instead of meaningful and thoughtful. Good writers put effort into their blog posts and should be rewarded with insightful responses. Instead, their work contends with lackluster statements of adoration, condemnation, and divagation. . The term itself is a misnomer. In practice,  commenting. We're calling you out.

Stop Blogging: Don't Apologize for Not Blogging

http://thisisironic.blogspot.com/2008/01/dont-apologize-for-not-blogging.html

The irony does not escape us. Monday, January 21, 2008. Don't Apologize for Not Blogging. Do not apologize for an extended absence. No one cares where you were. It's a wasted gesture- just like your blog. Do not blog simply because you have not blogged in a while. Your post will be sub-par and will qualify for abortion. Better yet, stop blogging entirely: your piddling audience most certainly needs to find other sources of entertainment. And, perhaps, get a life. We suspect the same can be said for you.

Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Well, right here. Posted by A.I. Ladd, jhagad, aage badh? Ladd, Jhagad, Aage badh" is the catchline on the signboards and advertisements for Jadhavgadh. Beat that! My daughter wanted to know what the word FORT means. I had to explain how rulers and warriors had to build them to protect and defend their lands against attacks by foreigners. They showed us a dungeon where prisoners were sent. One glimpse at the newspapers today will tell us nothing much has changed. It is sti...

Same same but different. Few things annoy me as much as the claim often advanced by well-meaning but woolly- headed (and usually Punjabi) liberals to the effect that when it comes to India and Pakistan , "We’re all the same people, yaar.". Sunday, January 8, 2012. This kind of social interaction is also called ‘unwinding’ by the way - a stress busting exercise for people who work hard through the week. They work hard so they can afford these parties and be seen in the right clothes with the right people in the right places carrying the right visiting cards, arriving in the right cars. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. A conversation with my niece, who's doing her masters in art [and living my dream] in London, led to some interesting reflections. Am sure she [in her glorious twenties] was secretly smirking at my 'unqualified' opinions. She doesn't agree. She says change = evolution and not necessarily a rejection of what is old. Adaption would probably be another word here. What is free, again, wont adapt. And what is its purpose? Science for science's sake? I remember, we were never assessed...

Saturday, May 30, 2009. Another time, another place. What If - by Swati Chandran. I took the road less traveled by. The one that Frost had written about. Though they warned me with a sigh. Of lurking danger and surprise. I ventured on without a doubt. Of course, it made a difference. Just the way I lived my life. On my own terms, with confidence. And some not-so-common sense. Yes, it has been worth the strife. What if I had tread the beaten path? And by every rule been bound? Posted by A.I. That you just...

Thursday, October 17, 2013. Click on that link! Love it.especially since just the other day, I heard grown, educated, accomplished, articulate married women speak about how they have given up their identities to compromise and settle for a middle path which leads nowhere really and wanting to rediscover their past selves or shadows there-of. How do we do this, they asked. What jobs can we expect - preferably part time. Women who appear free-er than the others are seen by most as being given allowance.
