May 31, 2015. We got off the bus at the beginning of the hike to the sun already heating up the trail. The temperature these past couple of days has been in the thirties, so tough hiking weather, but perfect views. Our lonely planet had said it was a nice stroll to a guesthouse that could give you a good mornings meal so we hadn’t eaten. May 25, 2015. I landed down into Kunming airport with rain streaking down the window. I transfered into the city bus without hassle, but struggled to find a free taxi for my final leg. I ended up on the back of a moped with a large umbrella over it skidding our way through oncoming city traffic to the hostel, certainly a nerve wracking experience. The constant moving and settling, working with different tutors and living with host families means you don’t really feel the weeks fly by. I’d forgotten how exhausting teaching can be, especially with my first class being 18 children and Italian’s later lifestyle meaning you rarely get a long nights sleep! Into Croatia and Bosnia. August 8, 2015. August 8, 2015. Italy treated us to a thunderstorm goodbye. We sat under the umbrella’s normally there to provide shade, drinking our Spritz as the rain tumbled down. The overnight ferry was a dream though, we got on early and managed to reserve some sofa benches, so I actually got a full nights sleep. We departed this morning to Mostar, Bosnia. We return to Croatia and Split towards the end of our Eastern Europe loop so was a brief stopover on this occasion.
