This blog has been around, in one form or another, since 2006. It’s mostly been about music, science and technology, and New York City. Browse past posts below, or access these archives from the right column of the main page. Links to audio files in the very earliest posts are now dead. If you’re curious about a track, you can always email me. Or just go ahead and Google it. It’s The Future. The universe is mostly dark, cold, and silent. Our glorious exception should be celebrated, recorded and shared.

Candid Documenting of Adventures and Creations. Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Zoom in to check out the stitching on the toe strap. This is not exactly a new design; this type of sandal is probably best known as the choice footwear for the Tarahumara people. I am not planning on running 200 miles in these sandals, but they are. Comfortable, stay on my feet more securely than other sandals I have worn, and will probably outlast any shoe due to the durability of the tire rubber. Welcome to my workshop. Instead o...

Random musings of an empty-nester. January 14, 2014 by loriyeary11. I’m not quite sure why, but losing 10 pounds seems harder than losing my original 30! Maybe it’s because it’s a relatively small amount, but I’m really struggling. I’ve probably gained and lost the same 3-4 pounds a half dozen times in the last 2 months. Just can’t seem to break through that barrier. How are you doing with your weight loss plan? Are you on a special diet, or just watching calories? The trick is finding what works for YOU!

This Joy I Have
This Joy I Have. The world didn't give it to me! Saturday, May 4, 2013. Sunday, January 1, 2012. Will you [Did you] wake up on January 1, 2012 and say to God: “I don’t need to read your Word or pray or listen to your voice today. I am competent on my own. I can keep my New Years' resolutions all by myself, thank you very much.”? We would never dare. These frightfully arrogant words. But if we neglect God’s Word and prayer, we. We must renounce our self-sufficiency. And we must sit. And you know what?
