http://lusolair.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
The comments, critiques, and overall banter of a Portuguese-American who has seen, lived, and experienced a decent amount of stuff. Monday, January 11, 2010. Low Cost at Any Cost? A new year, and with it, new whines from certain factions here in the Azores. Now, it seems that the flavor of the month is from a group of people, hammering, whining and complaining that there are no low-cost flights here in the Azores. And I seem to be one of those who actually OPPOSES this idea. For those who don't live here...

His name, Pedro Passos Coelho. And so far, I am liking what I am hearing from him and his government and what measures he is planning to move forward with. Now, with that said. There are other measures that are planned to take place over the next 4 years. Measures such as simplying the tax code, reducing t...I lik...

What I find funny is that alot of people here accuse Americans of being consumerist. And maybe they are right. Portuguese aren't consumerist like Americans.they're even more consumerist. Luso's Lair: 5 phrases to live by
http://lusolair.blogspot.com/2010/07/5-phrases-to-live-by.html
The comments, critiques, and overall banter of a Portuguese-American who has seen, lived, and experienced a decent amount of stuff. Monday, July 26, 2010. 5 phrases to live by. Read this somewhere and, somehow, this would apply beautifully here in Portugal:. 1) You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. 2) What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. 5) You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.

Luso's Lair: The general bellyaching
http://lusolair.blogspot.com/2010/11/general-bellyaching.html
The comments, critiques, and overall banter of a Portuguese-American who has seen, lived, and experienced a decent amount of stuff. Tuesday, November 23, 2010. You know, I see the news of the upcoming general strike here in Portugal, and I laugh. Seriously. Do we REALLY think that a day off is going to change this government's intention of implementing it's austerity measures? Am I saying that this govenrment is 100% right? LOOK IN THE MIRROR! Who in the hell are we fooling? Stop passing the buck and sta...

The comments, critiques, and overall banter of a Portuguese-American who has seen, lived, and experienced a decent amount of stuff. Tuesday, March 03, 2009. Louçã's Rules for Radicals. Having said that, I thought it would be a great time to bring up a Jewish-American author named Saul Alinsky, who published his "Rules for Radicals" in quite accurate fashion. And I thought, after some of you read it, that you'd find very similar traits between these rules and our resident Trotskyist:. Never go outside the...

This particular public work has officially driven me over the edge! Well, for 2 years, we've been "treated" to a bevy of nice surprises such as chicanes switching sides, single-lane traffic, STOPLIGHTS! Well, not quite. Why haven't they said a single solitary word regarding the reasons of said delay? And why aren...

You ever seen a plane at an airport that just looks a little funky? Color schemes just look a little out of place? There's often a very common explaination for that. Of course, Avianca forgot just one little detail. They forgot about what North American Airlines had painted on their tail. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://lusolair.blogspot.com/2011/10/my-15-minutes-of-fame.html
The comments, critiques, and overall banter of a Portuguese-American who has seen, lived, and experienced a decent amount of stuff. Tuesday, October 18, 2011. My 15 minutes of fame. So, while on vacation in Lisbon, I was told that the local TV station asked if I could be interviewed. Yeah, this kinda shocked me. It shocked me even more when I found out that I was one of the main guests. Sorry, but how does a shlep like me get to that point? I still can't figure it out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
