Tuesday, December 22, 2009. A storm blew in last night. Gusting gales of rage. I couldn't stand against. With lightning strikes of despair. And a deluge of pain so strong. I screamed and screamed. While no one was home. Until the worst of the storm was over. Then the gentle patter of tears began. And hasn't stopped yet. I hate to cry but I know I'm safe. From taking my life. As long as I can puke out the pain. And not bottle it all up. No one can help me, not even. Others weathering the storm. I've been ...

The Occasional Recipe: Christmas Bells Are Ringing
http://occasionalrecipe.blogspot.com/2012/12/christmas-bells-are-ringing.html
Friday, December 21, 2012. Christmas Bells Are Ringing. I'm not feeling very much like sharing right now but I have to do something to cheer myself up. This morning I lost my oldest and dearest pet, my cat Nimbus. It wasn't unexpected, but it was traumatic for all of us. Especially since we lost the pet bunny, Pfeffer, last week. So here's a recipe for some delicious Christmas cookies. You can make this with just about any jam but pay attention to the lemon extract/peel and substitute if needed. 4 Bake i...

The Occasional Recipe: June 2013
http://occasionalrecipe.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 2, 2013. The Modified Fuzzy Navel, or "MFN", was created by my father-in-law. It's very simple to make, but it packs a powerful punch - similar to Long Island Tea in that it sneaks up on you. Enjoy, but in moderation! 2 shots vodka (use good vodka for the best flavor). 1 shot Peachtree Schnapps. Cherry and orange slice, for garnish (optional). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I have three blogs. That Little Farm Stand. I started writing about farming in my This n That. I love to read, ride my m...

Saturday, September 5, 2009. I actually got 99% of the dirty dishes washed yesterday! Mind you, this is the first housework I've done in a month. Poor DH has been cooking and doing laundry on top of his 14-hour workdays, and I've been too depressed to do much of anything for months. I was really starting to give up, having suicidal thoughts but no plan - it was just too much work to even plan my own death. Is it unreasonable for me to want to see an MD for my illness? Monday, August 31, 2009. I can't sit...

That Little Farm Stand: May 2013

That Little Farm Stand. Saturday, May 25, 2013. First You Dig a Hole. Note: The following was written at 4:30 am Central time. The end of the post tells what really. Happened today. ;). It's been great listening to the chicks talk to themselves, though. I swear one of them is a cuckoo by its voice - it warbles like a song bird. And we would have missed out on this if we hadn't had DirecTV turned off. Life without television? Yes, it's possible, though I miss our weather man. How to Plant Tomatoes. There ...

That Little Farm Stand: April 2013
http://thatlittlefarmstand.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
That Little Farm Stand. Sunday, April 28, 2013. Setting Up to Sell. So, in the garden the peas are barely up, the squash is trying hard, and we've got volunteer sunflowers from last year's seed. Obviously I don't have anything to sell yet, but it's never too early to start planning. The shelf idea will be great - until the melons come in. Then I'm just going to have to sell 'em out of the bed of the truck. Like all the other country folk do. I love living in the South! The Sky is Falling! Our first foray...

Saturday, October 3, 2009. Ye Gods, what a rough couple of weeks. I started another temporary job with the Census and have been run ragged ever since. It'll be over with in another couple of weeks, though. And boy do we need the money. So I won't be writing much 'til the job is over. I'm doing OK (as long as I remember to take my am meds, LOL). The stress is not good for me but no panic attacks or meltdowns (yet). Wish me luck! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Max the Mini, and Me. View my complete profile.

Saturday, August 15, 2009. Thought I'd start the inaugural post with some general stuff. I'm amazed I even found the energy to create this blog - I'm having a depressive episode that's been going on for a couple of months. Had a bit more energy today, though. Maybe I'm coming out of it. Come on, mania! I want to feel good again. Here are some common misconceptions I've run into when telling people I have a mental illness:. Mental illness is not contagious. Here are some things that upset me:. Listen ...
