This Poetic Present

Sunday, July 14, 2013. A Grief to Remember. We prayed together and slowly I felt Gracie crawling into Sunny's bed.laying her hands on Sunny, stroking her cheek. Libby watched from her top bunk, sadness and concern in her eyes too. We finished praying and Gracie kissed Sunny's cheek. How complex these moments can be with adopted children. Libby, not being able to express her emotions appropriately. Her fears of another's outward emotions.where does that come from? Posted by Cindy Foote. Links to this post.

This Poetic Present: March 2013

http://thispoeticpresent.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 24, 2013. She began sobbing saying, "I don't know. I don't know." And right then, for the first time I knew it was time to give her the words. About twenty minutes later Libby came down the stairs holding a drawing. She proudly showed me her work. It was a picture of a heart with Billy and me holding hands inside the heart. Below the heart at the bottom of the page Libby wrote, "Not broken anymore". This profound response brought me to tears. How many people get to say that? He never forsak...

This Poetic Present: October 2011

http://thispoeticpresent.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 29, 2011. September 2011.including a trip to Haiti! September 2011 could be summed up in about 10 separate posts, but here I am cramming it into one. Above: The girls and me just hanging out. I love them more than I will ever have words to describe. Below: Gracie's first day back to Mom's Day Out. She arrived in style:). We spent a Saturday morning at a party for one of Libby's friends where the girls rode all sorts of cute rides. This face is the sweetest I've ever known. She knew how ...

This Poetic Present: Breaking the Silence

http://thispoeticpresent.blogspot.com/2013/03/breaking-silence.html

Sunday, March 10, 2013. I've been silent. Sunny's been home nearly 5 months and I've shared nothing. When asked whether I would blog about our first weeks as a complete family I sincerely responded, "Love keeps no record of wrongs and our first weeks would just be a long record of wrongs, so no." And that is true. But most of the wrongs were my own and those wrongs are best made right by confession. Would be the problem. On Oct 17, Sunny ran all aglow from the plane into the sea-sized welcoming party&#46...

My Life With Logan: August 2012

http://mylifewithlogan.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Thursday, August 2, 2012. I haven't been posting much (or anything) lately. I'm sorry. I've been a bit busy: working full-time, planning a wedding (VERY simple wedding, but there's planning to be done none-the-less), school (ugh! Church camp, Sunday school, and trying to spend as much time with Logan as possible. It's just crazy right now! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I am an alum of Stephen F. My Life With Logan: March 2012

http://mylifewithlogan.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 28, 2012. Spring Break, Part 1. Logan, Mimi, and I traveled to Dallas for a few days over Spring Break. It was a welcomed break and tons of fun! Any time I get to spend quality time with Logan is precious! We visited LegoLand at the Grapevine Mills Mall. It was almost too young-themed for Logan but it was perfect for Mimi and myself. We really loved the Dallas/Fort Worth scenes (made completely with Legos). If we had waited another year Logan may have been too old. Two Times Hotter &#821...

My Life With Logan: November 2012

http://mylifewithlogan.blogspot.com/2012_11_01_archive.html

Tuesday, November 20, 2012. August 18, 2012. We didn't have a Plan B. Who would have thought that a hot day in August would be the receiver of a torrential downpour? I could have let it {the rain} ruin my day but instead, I smiled right through it. We had our small family ceremony at Lake Cherokee. We made it through the ceremony without any rain but almost as soon as it was over the rain started coming down. I didn't get nearly the amount of pictures I wanted but. I'm so thankful for. More pics to come!

The Online Home of JenThe(former)VideoGirl. 8221; and I keep finding myself trying to sort through my answer to that question. But as my mind rolls round and round I remember the writer of Ecclesiastes, “. What is crooked cannot be straightened;. What is lacking cannot be counted. 8221; (Ecclesiastes 1:15). Here’s the truth:. My mind races because I am uncomfortable and convicted and I want to not know this kind of systemic breakdown exists, not because what is happening here is a problem I can solve.

POEM FOR YOU

Monday, May 12, 2014. H-one to thy children of christ. A-ll has its meaning and signs. P-rogress and blessings at is. P-ure and simple dough. Y-uletide of all times. M-ind and signs of all thy prayers. O-h God Almighty we thank you. T-ons of sacrifices as we witnessed. H-and in hand through your gift. E-ndless love given as we received. R-ed roses of love and care. S-ing all thy angels and siblings. D-ay in and day out our mother. A-ll day long way back as toddlers. Y-es through quality time and care.

this is slow poetry | Something beautiful and possibly true.

This is slow poetry. Something beautiful and possibly true. Asymp; 4 Comments. I don’t know why You didn’t show up. Me in the dark with my mid-night prayers. The slip-sliding, wishmaking, deep in the night promises I made to an empty sky. I never knew how to pray anyway. Down on my knees. Face to the floor. Better for me to walk through dry grass. Pressed warm against the earth. Sun on my neck. Better for me the ripe fruit. The shimmer-shine of breathing. The thump-thump-thump of meaning. How I really am.

THE POETRY FACTORY

Life is a poem. Sometimes it rhymes, sometimes it doesn't. sometimes it makes no sense. But it's our poem. and whether it rhymes or not, or makes sense or not, everyone owes a sacred duty to contribute a verse". Friday, December 3, 2010. You ask politely;. I am fine, I reply politely. How are you is only a polite question. Because you really don't want to know. About the things that keep me awake. When the world snores in sleep. You would not want to know. That behind this smiling mask. How I wish my life.
