This, That and Matt. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Bell's Palsy - Week 3. One thing that seems to be a popular misconception is that it like I have been to the dentist and gotten a shot of Novocain. Yes, the paralysis might look similar, but I actually have full feeling in the affected side of my face. The only nerve that is affected is the “efferent” nerve that controls the muscles.
