Nomadic Adventurists: Inklings and Impressions
http://nomadicadventurists.blogspot.com/2010/01/inklings-and-impressions.html
A slew of enlightening adventures by Barbara Wilson, MD and Bill Hood. Friday, January 22, 2010. Just had a long happy day in Long Beach California helping to show off the new Ultrasol Inks. New to this far North, of course, The inks have a long history in Mexico and other areas of Latin America. Our booth is small – barely room to print a pellon, avoid bumping hips with the other hosts of the ink offering area, and escape getting a hot kiss from the flash unit. This Week I Learned. The Show Not Seen.

Nomadic Adventurists: Power Elite Solutions

A slew of enlightening adventures by Barbara Wilson, MD and Bill Hood. Saturday, February 20, 2010. 8220;Where was I? Normally I don’t bother to write anything when people like David Brooks write excellently researched and eloquently presented articles such as his latest in The New York Times labeled “The Power Elite.”. There is a comment that the new style of elite promotion has created “social chasms.” The example is that people who used to run a bank had “similar lifestyle habits...The secretarial wor...

Nomadic Adventurists: January 2010
http://nomadicadventurists.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
A slew of enlightening adventures by Barbara Wilson, MD and Bill Hood. Wednesday, January 27, 2010. This is a photo of a sign taken on the drive from Long Beach California to Austin Texas. It reads “Zero Visibility Possible.”. At that time, as I drove, I thought that the road and the land ahead was very visible. At least in a concrete “how far of a distance can I see” manner. So this sign makes me seek hidden meaning. But could there be more of an existential flavor to the message. Or perhaps it is as si...

Nomadic Adventurists: Squeegee Fourteen
http://nomadicadventurists.blogspot.com/2010/02/squeegee-fourteen.html
A slew of enlightening adventures by Barbara Wilson, MD and Bill Hood. Sunday, February 14, 2010. I’m a wood handled squeegee of uncertain age and durometer. I was thrown into a box in the back of a pick up truck and driven over 1400 miles from Austin Texas to Long Beach California. The ride could have taken 22 hours and 4 minutes, but the humans insisted on getting sustenance, sleeping, and answering calls of nature. This Week I Learned. The Elephant Dance Community. Love, Faith and Medicine.

Nomadic Adventurists: A Singular People
http://nomadicadventurists.blogspot.com/2010/02/singular-people.html
A slew of enlightening adventures by Barbara Wilson, MD and Bill Hood. Thursday, February 18, 2010. My rant is today is inspired by those who are impressed with the low American dollar cost of technological healthcare in other countries without pausing to guess further concerning their own good fortune. That inexpensive test, along with the “doctor visit combined with the lack of any wait” is likely outside the financial abilities of most of the remainder of that foreign populace. Brand used to be the st...

Nomadic Adventurists: Cultural Identity
http://nomadicadventurists.blogspot.com/2010/02/cultural-identity.html
A slew of enlightening adventures by Barbara Wilson, MD and Bill Hood. Thursday, February 18, 2010. I have always felt, much as this picture, like a fish out of water – a mermaid inadvertently placed in a garden instead of a sea. Nothing wrong with gardens. They’re great! It just seems that my endogenous form was meant for some other medium. There is poetry, for example. And I’m reading about a group of retirees that trade work for rent in State Parks. They provide stewardship for the land as w...We shou...

Nomadic Adventurists: The Show Not Seen
http://nomadicadventurists.blogspot.com/2010/01/show-not-seen.html
A slew of enlightening adventures by Barbara Wilson, MD and Bill Hood. Sunday, January 24, 2010. The Show Not Seen. The last day of the International Sportswear Show is now completed. Bill Hood printed some samples exactly like this as well. Many nice people visited our booth – and the day sped past despite a bit of a nose drip virus and the oddness that someone “borrowed” my cell phone from my backpack during the show. I hope that there are no odd charges from their antics. I have an aching head due to ...
