A place for us to share our experiences (and vent) regarding the transformation of our empty attic to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Tuesday, October 21, 2008. No New Tales to Tell. Thursday, October 16, 2008. Oh please not literally! The insulation installation started today, and it just looks like upside down snow up there! Here's a view from the top of the stairs, looking from the hallway into the master bedroom:. Also, the frame around the skylights are in, here at the top of the stairs. This then splits...
This Year's (re)Model: insert catchy title here
http://thisyearsremodel.blogspot.com/2009/04/transformation-from-our-bedroom-to-new.html
A place for us to share our experiences (and vent) regarding the transformation of our empty attic to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Monday, April 6, 2009. Insert catchy title here. The transformation from our bedroom to the new family room is (nearly) complete. This is one of the biggest perks, in my opinion, of the increased space we have - being able to have a family room where toys can roam, unrestricted, without it becoming a major annoyance for me. So here's what the room looked like before:. Well, you...

A place for us to share our experiences (and vent) regarding the transformation of our empty attic to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Sunday, December 14, 2008. Things have been dragging a bit lately, with the mudding and taping still going on and on and on, but there are a few new highlights. We have windows where there were none! Now, we have a window in that space:. Actually, this is not the final window that will go in this space. As noted in the post of 11/23. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

A place for us to share our experiences (and vent) regarding the transformation of our empty attic to 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Monday, February 23, 2009. Bunker down and wait. The Bunk Beds have arrived! They fit perfectly into the space we have. The boys are so excited, and it has really got us excited to move up there. Butthings still are still dragging. It seems so close, but all I can see are all the little things that need to get done before we can move up there and it is so aggravating!

About This Year's Photo
About This Year's Photo. Friday, December 19, 2008. Was the name of The Beatles' soundtrack album from their 1965 movie of the same name. The album cover of the original UK release (above) is slightly different than that of the US release (below). I chose this album cover because I was just learning Photoshop at the time, and it was the simplest iconic photo I could come up with to mimic. (A few of our earlier holiday cards employed Photoshop, but had relied on outside expertise.).

About This Year's Photo
About This Year's Photo. Friday, December 19, 2008. This year's photo is a composite of two actual photos from California migrant camps in the 1930s, both taken by WPA photographers. I considered this background as well- a 1936 photo of the Dust Bowl in South Dakota- but the composition wasn't quite right. Helluva photo though, huh? The truck was a more recent photo taken from the Internet and altered a bit. Here's to getting through the tough times together and appreciating the things that matter most.

About This Year's Photo
About This Year's Photo. Wednesday, December 16, 2009. This year's photo celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Woodstock music festival. The background is from an iconic photo shot by LIFE photographer Burk Uzzle. Which appeared on both the 1970 "Woodstock" album cover and the subsequent movie poster. We got Jen's cool blouse from eBay, as well as my sunglasses and mustache, and Samuel's peace-sign t-shirt. The lovely pink and purple afghan, I'm proud to say, was already ours. Dave & Bill's Kiwi Adventure
Dave and Bills Kiwi Adventure. Our month long New Zealand. Friday, February 11, 2011. Photo Diary of Bill and Dave's Great Adventure. Hello from down under! Dave and I made it here within an hour of each other, tired but in great spirits! Other than almost getting nicked for NZ$400 for not declaring my tent all went well through customs. I will need to put on a new rear tire today as the tread left is too iffy to leave for the backcountry. While downtown we visited a great spot called Shed 5. Roads yeste...
This Year, Sudan
This Year, Sudan. Sunday, March 9, 2008. I have contemplated this scene while waiting first for my number to be called, then for the computer system to creak slowly to my registration ( Malesh!
