Asafoetida Powder - A pinch. Red Chilli - 1 or 2. Coconut Oil - 1 tbsp. Curry Leaves - A sprig. Cashew (Fried) - optional. Cook Rice and allow it to cool. Monday, May 12, 2008. Red chilli powder/Sambhar Powder. Wash tomatoes and finely chop them and blend it well in a blender to make it a puree. Meanwhile take a tawa/pan add oil, few mustard seeds and let it splutter well and add some asafoetida powder to it. Now add the tomato puree to it and saute well. Also add the chilli/sambhar powder and salt and saute it well till everything gets well mixed and boils. Can be stored in a pickle form and can be eaten with any kind of rice/roti.
