Tuesday, March 31, 2015. A TRIAL ON THE TRAILS. My "comeback" is going pretty well. I know that is kind of ridiculous considering I only took two weeks off, but I was feeling like shit and losing fitness despite training for at least a month proceeding that, so it has been awhile since I've actually felt like my runs were doing some good. Monday, July 15, 2013. OUTDOOR SUNDAY EVENINGS 5K RACE REPORT. Me, Brandon's Dad, and Brandon before the race. Yesterday evening was the Outdoor Sunday Evenings 5K put on by the church by my house. The point of doing this race was to have my little brother Brandon from Big Brothers, Big Sisters do the race. Not only did he do it, he did awesome! I was (still am) very proud of him! His dad also did well for his first 5k but far below his expectations. About a quarter mile into the race. lookin' good!

Tonight at the gym, a guy got on the treadmill next to the one I was using. Was the guy who was punished in the underworld by having to stand in water below a fruit tree, all the while feeling terrible hunger and thirst. Yet, when he reached for the fruit or bent down for the water, each would move out of his reach. It's the image of eternal temptation that can never be satiated. Now I kind of know how he felt. Thursday, August 13, 2015. All runs under 8:30/mi(! In the last two months. When I got home I was curious about when my last tempo run was. Turns out the last time I "ran fast" was July 15th! That was a 10k on my "home loop" done at 7:58 a mile. The week before, on July 9th, I did intervals on the Southridge track, averaging 7:18/mile. Good two weeks of workouts there.
