Johann International: Table Progress - Part VIII
http://johanninternational.blogspot.com/2015/07/table-progress-part-viii.html
Sunday, July 5, 2015. Table Progress - Part VIII. Ur last episode of the table saw the legs completed and the outside frame added to the table top. At that time, there was still a lot left to do, to reach the point of having something that looked like a table. There still. Is, but as Aerosmith sang, I have been chipping away, at the wood though, not the stone; oh well, it kind of worked. It begins to look like a table. The block is a counter-balance because the apron section is not yet. Checking the set ...

Sunday, May 31, 2015. Table Progress - Part VI. N the last episode. Of this table project, I was holding out for some more cool weather so I could finish my steam bending. I got what I was waiting for on 21 May, when the temperature only got up to 13 C! At 5 in the morning I got the fire going and had water boiling in the tank by 8. At 11, a good friend of mine came over to help and we had the last three sections in the forms by 1,30. An ancient wagon tyre made a good bending form. Flatting the table top.

die diebgasse: Wczesnośredniowieczny pikowany rękaw?
http://diebgasse.blogspot.com/2014/10/wczesnosredniowieczny-pikowany-rekaw.html
Poniedziałek, 13 października 2014. Przeglądałem ostatnio trochę obrazków z IX-XI wieku i mnie zainteresowało nietypowe wykończenie rękawów.

Johann International: Details
http://johanninternational.blogspot.com/p/details.html
At Johann International we are all about the details! It is said that “the devil is in the details” but we believe the only thing ‘devilish’ is a lack of detail. Details are what give a piece character and charm. Whether it is mortise and tenon, tongue and groove, or dovetail joints; we get the joinery details right. In veneering, the use of hand sawn, thick veneers and careful book matching assure you that the piece was made by a true craftsman. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Importance of hand made.

Johann International: Eventually, most projects get completed
http://johanninternational.blogspot.com/2015/08/eventually-most-projects-get-completed.html
Sunday, August 9, 2015. Eventually, most projects get completed. My "baker's cabinet" made of elm. The question is usually intended as an inquiry into what I do for self entertainment; the answer. More work. Crest carving and marquetry detail. Lid and box-front detail. Of course, the more ornamentation, and care one puts into a piece, the longer it takes to get it finished, and thus this one took nearly a year. Making something that is even more of my own soul, because I have to answer to no one for it.

Alchemy in Medieval and Tudor England. Medieval alchemy, chemistry related technology and random things distilled from books and artefacts. Re-visiting a previous experiment. Asymp; Leave a comment. Here it is before:. Admire the shininess of the brass, with the small scratches probably imparted during the rolling process to turn bar into sheet. So this time round it does work a bit better, exactly how I have no idea, I’ll have to go and think about it. Asking you all to contribute to my expenses isnR...
